Clueless February 12, 2008 Share Clueless GC Alumni February 12, 2008 Ok, I know there is alot of info out there, so much that it is overwhelming, what I am looking for settings and tweaks to tune my machines for optimum gaming performance without totally making it appear like windows 3.1, lol. Other things I am interested in are video card settings, memory allocation, anything that you guys do and have success with, because we all know that the default settings after installing software and hardware or very modest, appealing to the average user. My set up : AMD X2 5000+ Black Edition OC'd to 3.2 ghz w/Zalman 9700 cooler 2 GB Corsair DDR2 XMZ2 Seagate 300gb SATA HD Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4 2 - eVGA 7900GT KO's in sli KDS 22" LCD monitor Enermax Galaxy 850 psu 1 each...Sony 16x DVD-RW, LG 16x DVD-RW burners Antec 900 case Windows XP Home SP2 This system, although not the fastest, should be more than adequate for most games, especially since I dont really own any newer games, but sometimes I notice video stuttering and slow load times. Ice_Berge_00 February 16, 2008 Share Ice_Berge_00 GC Alumni February 16, 2008 XP SP3 won't be out until later this year. The SP2c that came out has nothing to do with functional changes, they just ran out of Windows XP CD Keys and needed to change the algorithm used to verify them (LOL)
