Cujo March 31, 2009 Share Cujo Member March 31, 2009 Just picked up a set of these for my main rig as my surround system is on my home theatre setup and I've been using USB powered speakers for a while now. These things are amazing. Great bass even in the basement on a carpeted cement floor and the sound quality is great right up to max. Only downside is they connect to USB therefore bypassing your sound card. I've got a cable going from my X-FI to the input plug though for when I want to use in game X-FI effects. Though I actually think GTA 4 sounds better with the USB connection (which makes sense since it's digital). I picked them up for $100 CDN at Tiger Direct. Regular $419 or something ridiculous like that. Anyway, if you're in the market for a set of speakers for your desktop/laptop don't waste money on those three extra speakers, two of which you'll never actually set up behind you. For 100 bucks there's nothing better out there.
bushwack April 1, 2009 Share bushwack Member April 1, 2009 CompUSA also has them for 80. Hows the remote? Does it control media player? They look like a sweat set up for the money.
Cujo April 1, 2009 Author Share Cujo Member April 1, 2009 remote seems to control most things. most of the functions are related to windows media centre which i don't use. the basics like pause/play and volume work great in any program.
DNA April 1, 2009 Share DNA Member April 1, 2009 What a nice deal, but my gods the shipping sucks. Same cost to ship as it does to buy them....
