It does amaze me though how often I read a scientific article (or, more accurately, an article about science, written by an alleged journalist*), and, through all the fancy language in there, the explanation for the findings is pretty much, "because boys are dumb." * I say 'alleged journalist' not to impugn these specific individuals, but because journalists in general (1) seem to know nothing about the fundamentals of journalism, and (2) can't write good English.
