Chrome Pro-Tip of the Day

The new tab stuff that Google changed a week or two ago? Yeah, that can be disabled.

You will be very happy.

  1. In Chrome, type about:flags and press enter
  2. Find the part that says "Enable Instant Extended API" and change it to Disabled - this will be far down the page, scroll away...
  3. Restart your Chrome browser manually or by pressing the "Relaunch Now" button at the bottom.

Yes, I too base all my future decisions upon a single incident that happened in the past.

"It was in the nonperformance categories like memory efficiency, reliability, security and standards conformance that Firefox was really able to shine. Bad page load reliability put Chrome in a pretty distant second place."

But feel free to keep making objectively wrong decisions. :P

(Why do I love busting your chops so much, Flitter? I dunno. But I do. )
