  1. Someone named batman on the server now. Spouting a lot of racist garbage.
  2. I'll be playing this game a bunch. I'd think a 32 person server would be a good start. Big enough for all the toys to be in play, small enough to be playable with a wide range of filled server slots. Lots of servers, but how many are good? People don't go to the CSS servers because there is no where else to play. They go there because of the teamplay, language filters, admin pressence, and positive attitudes... Perhaps in the beginning, but I would think venturing to a new game would expose GC to a group of like-minded people eager to join and help.
  3. The game has a lot of promise. My initial thoughts are that they have done a decent job with balance. This isn't like the Battlefield Vietnam game where you had a server full of marines with the m60/bazooka combo (bleh). All the classes seem to have their ups and downs, and the sides seem well balanced with vehicles too. It will take time to see if any maps are broken, they look pretty good so far. Choppers are good fun, but much different than in Desert Combat. Easier to fly, but that ease took out the ability to do some of the more trick manuevers as well. Jets are okay, but just not my style with this game. They're very fast and the maps seem a little small to really make them fun. The commander position is pretty slick. It really lends itself to teamplay. The fact that you can also squad up is also awesome. This game is definitely a clanner's game. Matches should be a team player's paradise for sure. As for the gameplay itself, I'd say it's good, but not great. I'd like to see the first patch released as well as the 5.7 catalyst drivers for ATI before really commenting on the gameplay. A lot of the servers with decent pings still play buggy, which makes me question if they need to tighten that up in an early patch. The graphics are nice, but nVidia's close work with the game means ATI cards are behind the curve on performance. I've heard the brand new Omega Drivers for the ATI cards give a tremendous performance boost to the game, but I prefer to stay with the catalyst drivers. All in all, a lot of fun with tremendous potential as the game patches itself, the video drivers get updated, and the community learns the finer points of teamplay.
  4. I don't think so. Certainly not with it set to 64 player and running a map that didn't come with the demo.
  5. I love those rare seesaw battles that wind up a 9-9 tie because time ran out on the map.
  6. I think my biggest concern isn't with a single teamstack, but with a stack that lasts several maps. When 3-4 guys stay on the same team map in and map out annihilating the competition, it just seems unfun. People don't have to hit tab every round to see if they need to switch, but they should certainly not try to stack either. Play hard and have fun, but try to remember there is a whole server trying to have fun.
  7. I'd avoid Samsung's phones because they lack speakerphone.
  8. I thought is was two weeks ago. I've watched it a couple times on dvd.
  9. I'm guessing this is the map with the subway and the ladder to get out of the subways path? It's an interesting map, but I played it with a guy who liked to block the ladder and get his teamates crushed by the train. Aside from that silliness, it looked fun. Not the prettiest map, but it seems to have something for every style of play.
  10. Tony Curtis was the guy to the left of her dad telling the story about how you could walk around vegas with money on your head without incident.
  11. Happy Birthday, man. Sure hope you find something to do on a friday night appropriate to commemorate your twenty-first birthday....
  12. I had a hard time finding stock in the server list tonight. When I did, it was empty. Everything okay on your end or was it something on mine?
  13. I liked the show. Wish more of the episode had actually involved following clues to the guy in the coffin though. Too much of it seemed just tossed around until he was about to die, then twenty pieces of a puzzle got thrown onto a map to locate him. Seemed rushed me. Not sure about that "Don't take it out with you" thing in the prison either. However, I point out those few problems for me because I liked the rest of it. I even liked the cameo from Tony Curtis (boy has he gotten old).
  14. I'll have a go at it. Did FF for the first time last year and think I understand the basics of it this year. Apparently, homerism doesn't give a person many wins.
  15. I really enjoyed the movie. As someone mentioned before, I rarely get upset if a movie changes a lot of the plot from the book. What is important to me is the feel of the characters and the essence of the story. I think this movie did a really great job with both. Part of what made this movie so entertaining is what I have been so upset with the recent Star Wars movies for lacking. Instead of CGI this and that, this movie embraced costume and puppet created alien life. Lucas has forgotten the soul a great puppet and costume staff can put into a fancifull lifeform. I found the aliens in Hitchhiker's far more engaging and believable than anything created by computer. Oh yeah, Sam Rockwell absolutely rocks as Zaphod!
  16. stuttering john seems to have scared him off
  17. speedhacker on stock right now. <>G-B<> or something like that
  18. Unfortunately, the effect is just rad enough to commit a little shot in the leg just to get a laugh.
  19. A fine fine film. "Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?" Oh yeah, the opening monologue in Patton rocks some socks too.
  20. I really enjoyed the movie, and will watch it again and again for years to come. However, that guy needs to write a new movie or risk turning into Woody Allen. If you've seen a couple Woody Allen movies, you've seen them all. Wes Anderson shook things up with Bottle Rocket and Rushmore, but seems to me to still be doing the exact same thing. He needs to grow and evolve to keep me interested in his future projects... David Mamet was giving me a bit of that after Glengarry Glen Ross and Spanish Prisoner, but has since really varied his style.
  21. No worries. If I can goof on a thread, he can goof on a post. With a lot of PMs flying around that clan thread, a lot of guys like Lux just didn't have all the information. He's supposed to get a little defensive over perceived attacks. Everyone does. Apologies to Lunk. Didn't see the player name in the tab menu.
