Hey I think I was using that one too, I liked it so. This one is too bright for me and kinda looks like everything else out there. I've been noticing that the net as a whole is going bright and bland, with rounded squareness. It's all so sterile. The 90's had great websites.

Yeah seems the longer I'm laid off, the fatter I get. You could use a few pounds. I did get my drive in today and they were nice enough to send me a 640AAKS replacement. Shipped via UPS June 29 and got my replacement today July 17. Guess coulda been worse.

Man, I mmissed it. Seems it got yanked.

Was a Western Digital 500AAKS, didn't totally die but when I went to make a drive image it gave me errors. After running WD utility it said to back up and send in. During the same week, i sent a stick on my kids memory off and got a replacement at my door in a week from Crucial. I've had a Maxtor and IBM drives die on me too and got those replaced in under 10 days. Seems they kept the drive for about a week even before they looked at it according to my emails, I'll think twice before I choose WD again.

Whoever recommended the Western Digital HHD didn't tell me it was gonna take 3 weeks for warranty replacement.

Is there any possible way I can sell you my copy? Or is there some transfer fee? I hate you Steam/Valve/jerkswhodontletpeoplesellthegamestheyboughtonebayorothermarkets.

I was gonna get a Fallout 3 patch a couple hours ago and 50mb was going to take 2 hours. Guess they having to do cutbacks, buying id mustta put them back a pretty penny.

I've been running 64bit for the past couple weeks with zero issues. It's fast, I'm sticking with it. I was also under the impression the XP mode is for legacy office apps. So far what games I've played run fine.

If it was me and I was using Vista, I would backup all your data on current drive. Install new drive as primary and install Win7 RC. Install all your apps again and put the data where you want it. I've been using Windows since Win3.1 . Don't mess around, 1)just backup your stuff, 2)format and install if you have/add a new HDD. And you should always have the first step done. It's that easy, Slapchop.

I just had a blast. I play a lot on Zirux's demo server because, well it just plays so well. Best server I've played on. Anyway... I joined a game under a girl alias. Played a couple rounds like a well rounded player, just no jump dodging and mostly mines, mini and avrils. After a round of being beaten on a really bad team I played the best I could and we actually turned the next map and got their prime down. One player called bot, then the whole team slowly did also one by one as they went spec or left. Then I told them to watch as I shot randomly then killed some guys, back and forth. They said it was just the tools I was using. So much fun and a great experiment in human behavior.

I've never used them but HDD companies have utilities to clone your current drive to the new one. Then erase or do whatever with the old one. You will also have to use the clone utility for the new drive, not the old. Nevermind, for some reason I only saw the first sentence in your post until I replied...

When I installed Win7 last week I installed 3.5 too. FF does seem noticeably but I dunno if it's FF or Win7. Win7 seems faster then XP now, Steam loads up in mere seconds, even on my temporary Seagate 320gb IDE HDD. (my WD 500gb failed, I'm wondering if the 320 is a better drive )

How can you see a list of your computer's hardware??? Old skool win9x and XP list of your video and sound hardware, etc.. Win7 isn't even reporting what brand of HDD I have. And yes I know what's in my computer...just curious.

I've never used itunes so I can't verify anything but why is QT still around, it's so 90's. Or maybe that's just the last time I was forced to use it.

Its at 67mb right now and been running all day. Thank goodness I have 4gigs of ram. Also high on my list, yahoo messenger at a whopping 18mb. That's like 13 floppies! Wait a minute, is there a 64bit Firefox?

I think what he has listed with the 4850 instead of the 4870 would be a nice FPS machine. I'm thinking he doesnt even have a 24" monitor so he can always bump the rez down a bit for higher frames. It's a better system then my son's rig (Celeron DC@2.8 w/8800GT) and his plays all the Valve games very well on high at 1680x1050.
