yeah... I went to steampowered.com and tried to get help. Whatta crock! Their support database bites it. It tells you that after you do a search you can use the, "Ask a question" tab. That tab never appears however. I guess you can't expect a lot from a free program but, if Valve is going to require it they could at least push Steam to do a better job of supplying customer service.

Steam, that beloved program that allows us to play HL2 and its mods, annoys me. Talk about your dead horse, I know. What I am wondering about though, is something I haven't heard much about. When I fire up CS:S and refresh my servers I can view each server's details if I do it right away. If I wait too long there is a period where I have to wait a long time to see any individual server's details. The same thing applies to joining a server too. I love CS so much that I have learned to deal with it hoping, with every Steam update, it will be fixed. Is this the same for everyone ?

I use the MX and it has never given me a problem. It is a hair cheaper, ah screw it why not spend a few dollars more ?

Right now (9:50 ET) it is doing some crazy stuff too. Not starting match, leaving everyone frozen in respawn. I noticed even my update itsself appeared borked until I paused each game they didnt just slow down in updating - they froze and crashed HL2

The shoe fits you like a wader boot on a newborn's foot. I repeat - you are not one of those analities I spoke of! In fact one of the two hasn't even been on for a few weeks that I know of. The other is schizo and on a happy upswing lately (just dreading the crash! ) ToolBear you are one of the good ones and I learn a lot when playing with or against you.

Sounded like a negative title eh ? Just wanted to get your attention. My message for the day is, "Thank The Gods for a clean server!" I never thought I would enjoy such a heavily policed server until I became a reg at one. Now, to be honest I have been no angel and have recieved warnings myself for language and content but, I do love this atmosphere. Even though I cuss like a sailor at home and have enjoyed vats of drug and alcohol over the last 20 years I still think a clean server is a great idea. I wouldn't want my 16 yr old ( especially my 6 yr old) listening to that kind of talk. I also think it cuts down on the bickering. I rarely play anywhere else since I discovered it a few months back. In the 6 years I have been playing CS and other HL mods I was annoyed by the admin who would say, "Language!". Now I see the error of my ways. There are a couple of admin that are anal beyond belief and I would love to TMP their fragile little egos but, for the most part this is a great family. Kevlar's off to GC!

Thanks this worked great! I opted not to go with the windowed mode though, it made my cursor register lower than normal for some reason. I now have: -dxlevel 81 -w 1024 -h 768 works like a charm

Man, this lowsettings cfg. raised my FPS from an average 60 to 100! Only complaint is that the models look horrid but, oh well. If you plan to use this .cfg make sure to: r_shadows 1 // _disables shadows (not recommended)_ It sucks accidentally hitting the button a few times and wondering if you flashlight is still on (and trust me NO ONE will tell you if it is or not).
