    My story,

    WHAT JUST HAPPENED?
  2. Those are some beautiful bikes.
  3. Apparently UT2K7 is going to ship with PHYSX support so when it comes out i will probably get a card.
  4. Hmmm....Newest FW post was today. Must already be dead...I just copy and pasted.
  5. www.monarchcomputers.com has a bunch of opterons with coupons right now. The 165 ends up $270 and the 170 ends up roughly $370. It's a FW deal so who knows how long before it gets all FW'ed. AMD Opteron 146 Coupon Code: 50506-120331 $70.00 Off AMD Opteron 148 Coupon Code: 50506-120333 $45.00 Off AMD Opteron 165 Coupon Code: 50506-120339 $70.00 Off AMD Opteron 170 Coupon Code: 50506-120341 $35.00 Off AMD Opteron 175 Coupon Code: 50506-120343 $50.00 Off

    My New Buy

Nice car dude. What model is it?
  7. I can't believe you didnt talk to me first If you are going with a PCI-E board it had better be an Asus A8N-SLI board or I will HURT YOU! hehehhe. Micro Center has ATI X850XT Platinum 256mb for $199.99 if you are interested in something like that.
  8. Having a 7900GTX puts you at the top of the line right now and still gives you room for expansion in the form of another card (likely when Supreme Commander or UT2K7 ships). With 2 cards in SLI you are at the end of the line when it comes to video cards unless you start from scratch again. If you can still sell that card for some decent money on eBay when you are ready to add a second you might be better off taking Cujo's advice and going with a single card. I have an EVGA 7900GTX 512 and that card eats Oblivion for breakfast.
  9. One of the other techs here just did an OEM SATA install with an Abit AV8 that didn't ask for floppy drivers.
  10. Hehehheh...Most of the people I have talked to about them liked them but they were all using desktop systems. Glad to hear you got it working again.
  11. You have the original drivers that came with your laptop? If you were using OMEGA drivers get the newest ATI ones and put those on there. thats the trick i removed my omega drivers and i just got the newest ATI driver ones but now since when i updated it. I had omega on loaded up it didn't update promperly and now ATI driver isnt being used and I can get it to switch to my ATI so its using VGA. I think (can't say for sure cause I don't use Omega drivers) that the ATI tool for erasing previous driver installations will work. https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default...ge&folderID=293 Catalyst Uninstaller is what you are looking for on that page. I don't know if the Omega drivers are build on the same framework as the ATI ones so I can't guarantee that that will work so before you do that wait until someone else weighs in about it.
  12. There are a few Abit and MSI boards that use Silicon Image controllers that do not need the f6 driver installation route. This only works if you have one of the brand new OEM cds with sp2 built in. I was absolutely amazed at a few of these installations that I did. The Asus A8N32-SLI RAID setup, if internal, can only use the Nvidia RAID so drivers are necessary.
  13. You have the original drivers that came with your laptop? If you were using OMEGA drivers get the newest ATI ones and put those on there.
  14. Welcome to Windows Push enter to continue From that point. Basically the first blue screen that requires any sort of user input barring pushing F6
  15. What board do you plan on putting that stuff in? More importantly, back to processors. Intel Dual Core processors (Barring the EE in most regards) suck. If you are NOT buying the EE Dual Core processor then your supposed dual core does not have HT. So you are effectively getting 2 physical cores where they have to communicate WITH NO CROSSBAR and no HT. You are probably better off getting single core HT processors in that case. Or, you buy AMD dual core processors because they run cooler, are more stable, and operate better. Brand loyalty in the computer industry in this day in age is something that will get you into trouble.
  16. 11 minutes from the point I hit enter the first time.
  17. That is supposedly the recommended specs, I have a feeling the required will be somewhere around 512. A system with that mcuh memory is likely to score a -22 on their windows evaluator thing
  18. I just wanted to send out a kudos to Laz and the others for diverting some of their adminning to Discharge. When that server first went live I played in there a lot and it was like being a computer on the internet with no antivirus. I was never really aware until that point how much I absolutely LOVED the GC:CS gameplay. So yeah, thanks.
  19. Man...that sounds DELICIOUS! I'm going to have to take you up on that sometime slim.
  20. Buy a $5 mouse and see if it freezes to rule out the mouse itself. Then try different ports on your board if it is USB to see if that fixes it. If it is a PS2 mouse try a USB mouse. If you run through all of that stuff it could be a problem with windows which reimaging could rule out. Do you still have functionality with the windows key or keyboard while the mouse isn't working or is the computer completely freezing? If it is completely freezing there is probably some larger issue.
  21. Did you see that video on Google's site about the beta Linux GUI that's coming out? It's got stuff like a true 3d desktop and other eye candy. Plus it was running on 256MB of RAM. I wonder how much Vista will need... There was a bunch of talk on the web and at this Microsoft Retailer thing I went to about recommended specs being 2gb.
  22. Motherboard Monitor 5 is a good temperature sensor too.
  23. Hahahahha...I too am currently enjoying a 74GB raptor drive and after messing around with these raptor drives I am seriously having to fend off the urge to buy one. I do have to give it up to WD for using NCQ in their new drive even though it isn't necessary in a lot of environments. I am almost done with this machine with the RAID 1 and I will finish the review. I plan on making it more from the point of one of us then pulling benchmarks from AT or HOCP. Windows installed in 11 minutes though I will tell you that.
