  1. I do really want to go ... But I don't know if the funding will be there. I've got two weekends away planned only a month before FF. I'm going to try to make it, but I honestly won't know until a few weeks before. If I do go, I have my own car so no worries there. Anybody ever have any issues with taking thier computer across the border? I've seen first hand what kind of jerks they can be at customs .... it makes me nervous. -George

  3. Woah .... that's wierd .... I have the same problem with a laptop at work. And just found Hijackthis on it today, lol. Never heard of it before today. The one at work has the same issues, but it also has issues with iexplore randomly crashing .... when internet explorer isn't running. I had to purge the comp of a fair bit of spyware when i got started too. I've run norton(some corporate edition), spybot, and adaware. It's clean, but something still ins't right. I'm out of ideas. -George

  5. Those suckers get a little heavy eh? I had a 16-35 2.8 and a 24-70 2.8 rented for the new years weekend to shoot my first wedding. Really really nice glass, and massively huge compared to what I'm used to. I also shoot with a Rebel XT. Although my lens selection is rather unsubstantial, lol. Canon 18-55mm F3.5-5.6. Canon 35-135mm F4-5.6. Canon 50mm F1.8 prime(best cheap lens out there). I use a Sigma 500 super flash and I have 2 1gb cf cards(generic scandisk and a fotosource 45x) and 1 512mb card(fotosource 45x). -George
  6. C'mon, wb? that's what RAW is for!! lol Pretty decent shots though, really a shame that the mesh was in the way. Could've been some GREAT shots. I'd take a puck in the face if it meant I got that perfect shot right before, haha. I really need to get out and try some sports photog. Got to do one race last year though, that was fun(autocross event in Cincinatti last june). -George -Rebel XT User

  8. Even my 8ms 700:1 Samsung(930B if you care) was only 429 on sale at staples. If it's not too late, I'd say return it, you can get much better for the same price. 19" is pretty huge though, eh? When I first got it I was running out of breath trying to get the cursor from one side of the screen to the other, lol. -George
  9. Awsome, thanks for all the info, everyone. For the $40, I'd just buy the better one, lol. Where is it that you work Cujo? I had my loyalties to one computer shop, but they've let me down, so I'm all over the place now.' Thanks again, -George
  10. What do other boards have for pci-e then? and what's 8 phase power?? thanks -George
  11. Hey I'm still learning when it comes to motherboards. Not always sure what to look for. When I upgrade, I've got it narrowed to three boards so far. Asus A8N-SLI Premium http://usa.asus.com/products4.aspx?l1=3&l2...539&modelmenu=1 Asus A8N-SLI DeLuxe http://usa.asus.com/products4.aspx?l1=3&l2...375&modelmenu=1 And then the all out mobo Asus A8N32-SLI DeLuxe http://usa.asus.com/products4.aspx?l1=3&l2...744&modelmenu=1 Now the questions. First, what's the difference between the first two? Specs look the same to me. They're about $15 apart at the store I go to. Second, what make's the 32 "all that"? Is it worth the extra $60 or so? I've always bought cheap motherboards in the past, and I'm suffering with a cheap one now .... never again, lol. I'm getting a good one this time around .... real good. For reference, I'm looking at getting a BFG 7800GT OC and a 3700+ to go with the mobo. Thanks -George

  17. Haha. Actually I'm obsessed with Scirocco's (The volkswagen though). I've owned many, and will own many more. As for bikes. I ride a Brodie ... or rather I used to ride a brodie. I still have it but I've not had much interest in riding for the past couple years. They destroyed all the good trails in my city in favour of an expressway. You'll still find something mtb related in almost every room in the house though, lol. -George (My fav frame will always be the Le Toy from 24. A friend had the first demo model that came to North America .... it was SOOOOOO chunky, lol)
  18. Update!! Got a sexy new desk today, new chair too. Yay -George
  19. Well I was going to make fun of the kleenex next to anoymo's comp..... but I've got hand lotion next to mine, so I'll keep my outh shut, lol :| Here's my desk ... I REALLY need a new one, lol. I'm in the market for a decent sized "L" shaped desk now. My sexy new keyboard. I don't know how I lived before I had this. And a random pic I took of a resistor. I love macro photography! That's me. -George

  22. My Celeron D 2.6 runs ~32 with the system idling, ~38 when I'm surfing, doing random stuff, and ~46 while playing CS:S. When I OC it to 3.1Ghz the temp runs ~49, it hit 50 once for about 10 seconds, lol(In CS:S). I have a P4GE-MX mobo, and 6600GT Vid card if it matters. It's all in an antec sonata case too, so there's lots of airflow. Oh, and I am running stock cooling all around. -George
