I can't say for sure either way and I'm not going to pretend I know exactly how its going to play out. Is it possible that it'll be how you fear? Sure. Who knows what the suits will think is a good idea. That being said, I really doubt anybody except maybe sony and the 3rd party game developers really know what is going to happen and unless someone can cite sources for all this 3rd party billing stuff, its just hearsay. And yes, its hearsay whether you think it'll be mostly free or mostly charged. I don't think theres been a detailed enough information release to know for sure.

Not really sure what else I can say. XBOX Live has always been better than Sony's services so far. But, they've done a lot of work to try and get PS3's service to be competitive. But, I guess it doesn't really matter either way. Theres enough fanboys of both sides to make any argument valid for either side.

And you get a lot more than a 360. But thats a whole nother argument. I'm curious how the actual implementation of sony's FREE online service will compare with XBOX Live Gold/Silver. So far, all the announcements/projections make it look awesome and pretty comparable IMO. But, time will tell.

Hang tight and hopefully the banning admin will come around soon. In the mean time, I'd suggest talking to your friend and seeing if he did anything on the server to get banned. I'm almost positive its been anounced that PS3 games will be 59.99. I know its not a far cry from 70 and I have little doubt that some games will be more expensive.

It'll probably take someone a while to dig through the logs to see why you were banned since you don't remember what happened. Someone should get back to you about it soon though.

Was there much point in starting a thread just to bash the ps3? Theres plenty of random bloggers on the web that do that already. One thing to correct. Both models of PS3 will have HDMI out. I won't lie, I work for Sony so I have a vested interest in this thing doing well. I havn't heard of most of the issues you bring up about the hardware, although I'm not saying its not true, just I havn't heard anything about it. As far as it being boring at e3 for your friend, well, that all comes down to the games. Personally, I thought Heavenly Sword was pretty fun. I didn't get a chance to check out the Wii, but like I said, it comes down to the games. Some will be fun, some won't. I currently have a Xbox360, and I'll be buying a Wii and a PS3 when they launch. There are going to be games to play on all 3. It really just comes down to which software lineup you like best.

A quick guess would be your name. BAMF is a pretty easily figured out acronym that very neatly bypasses the swear filter on the servers. Did you notice an admin asking someone to change their name? Its possible this was the cause.

Count me interested. I should be available for almost all the matches/scrims. The only things that would prevent me from playing is that I get off work at 5:30 PST, so I can't realistically play until 6:30 PST. Other than that, barring the rediculous amount of overtime I have to do whenever a deadline approaches, I'm totally free.

Eh, I really prefer playing with the idjits when their money is on the line. If you can find a group of people who play seriously when no money is on the line, then good job. Its hard finding something like that to practice with.

Can't lose any money that way, either. The risk is part of what makes it fun. Its also what prevents (most) people from acting like complete retards while playing.

The clerk guy mentioned they were thinkign about having CS tourneys there. I said we were mostly from out of town, but it might be possible to fenagle some sort of deal with them offering up prizes or something. I dunno.

I'd say start it at midnightish... It doesn't do any good to have a vote at 2am when the 12:30 rotation killed the server.

We should try and get enough people that we don't need to play online. The pings there were uhm... inconsistent to say the least. 12-14 people with some LAN action would be awesome.

Ack, just remembered something. When I got redirected, I checked console and it said something about BAT removing me for being idle? Maybe some leftover from the temp fix while mani was down?

I'd guess the redirect happened about 20 seconds after I joined the server. Map was Dust2, I auto'd onto CT right as the round began and I got about halfway to DD at Long A. Then boom, server change . I'm in favor of Rogue's theory though.

Not sure if its the same problem or not, but this happened to me last night. Joined west, joined a team, started rushing and mid round got punted to recrud. Rejoined west and it worked fine after that.
