I have TF2 and have played our server, when there are people in there its a blast but it has been empty lately during prime-time. I will jump in when I can but it's no fun being the only player in there waiting for others to join. I have ADD and need to be engaged quickly or I will forget why I joined the server..............ahh, what were we discussing here?

I don't think there is an easy fix for stacking. It does happen for sure. One would hope people would police themselves and spread out the talent pool evenly, but that just isn't happening. I really hope some type of change is implemented because the current system for Retro just aint working.

it sounds as if you are going through some very healthy changes. Realizing that your family takes priority over gaming. This is a good thing. Feel good regarding the maturing process you are going through. Not saying that someone who likes to game alot is immature. Simply saying that family and domestic duties should always have one's focus over gaming. When there is a healthy balance then gaming can be fun, when it controls one's life that it can create all kinds of problems on the home front. I am sure plenty of marriages have bit the dust because of someone in the family devoting all their free time to it.

thanks for the explanation M2. I'm more concerned about playing the game as intended so I won't be "dumbing down" my DX level to gain any type of advantage. In a perfect world others wouldn't do this either but if any type of advantage can be gained there will always be those that will exploit it. Like you stated it is possible but is sure does not pass the smell test.

I am little confused, It is ok to run a lower version of DX to lesson the flash effect? I know when I get flashed it completely washes out the screen for several seconds and then death usally follows. So if I am understanding correctly it is ok to ratchet down DX to shorten the flash effect correct?

I have to agree that being a team player is very high in the benchmarking of a skilled player.

Is it the player that is always at the top of the scoreboard? Is it someone that is proficient with an awp and therefore always gets on the defending team so that they can sit back and pick off the offensive players? I think the bench marks of a skilled player is that their score will be good no matter what weapon they choose and no matter what side they are on, offense or defense. Am I completely off base, let the flames begin.

It is impossible to please everyone. Everytime dust 2 comes up it's a good thing I don't keep a hand gun by my pc because I might end up spraying my brains against my moniter. Dust 2 is tired and old and can be had at any number of servers at any given time. I like that GC has customs thrown into the regular rotation, that is one of the reasons I decided to join GC. Italy is overrated also, that is a T map if there ever was one. Recrud is a good environment and change is good. It's a good thing when customs come around and folks are forced to learn the new map and new tactics. Otherwise for instance, a player knows the next map that is coming up and knows that he/she owns as a T or CT on the map, what motivation does this player have to choose Auto when the same old map shows up. A good player is going to do well on any map. So please keep the customs around for those of us that have grown weary of the same old same old.

Just banned from recurd in the middle of dust2, any reason why? I am assuming it was a mistake. I have been around a while and hope this is resolved soon. thanks.

no rotation please, keep em to a vote or random. Rotations get old and predictable.

Howdy, I really like the custom maps. They look great and are a nice change from the same ole maps on Recrud. I am so sick of dust2. Everytime it came up on Recrud it was a good thing I didn't have a pistol near my pc, the pc or myself may not still be here.

Best advice is to do some research to figure out what features you need and which ones you want and ones that don't matter. Cnet.com has good reviews and you can sort by price. Any of the big camera makers have good models in different price ranges but not many make a great camera in all the price ranges so do a little research and find the the top models in your price range.

I only installed a single drive but had to follow the procedure I described above. Hopefully though the other suggestions are correct and your mobo chipset will not require drivers for Windows to see the drive during install. I do know that when you start the install and you get a message that Windows did not locate a drive then most likely you are going to have to have a floppy. I understand your frustration, why should you need an floppy to install a new SATA drive but keep in mind when XP came out floppy drives were still very much in fasion.

First off you will need to enable SATA Boot Rom in Bios. Then more than likely you will need to get the SATA drivers from your MOBO manufactuer. If your mobo has VIA chipsets then you can get the SATA drivers from here. www.viaarena.com. You will need to copy the drivers onto a floppy. Via has very good instructions at their site. When you start to install Windoz you will notice when it first starts there is a message at the bottom of the screen Press F6 to load third party drivers. So what you do is have your SATA drivers on the floppy in the drive. Press the F6 key when prompted. The drivers will load and then you are presented with a screen to select the proper drivers for the OS you are installing. Hope this helps, but whatever chipset your board maker uses there should be detailed instructions at their sites. I recently installed an SATA drive for the first time and had to do a little digging through forums and such to figure this all out. Hope this info will cut down on the leg work you gotta do.

I say keep it on for now. It will force folks to get their skills up with different weapons. Prior to update the weapons that were purchased by both sides were pretty much the same every round. I say leave it on for a couple of weeks and give peeps a chance to get used to it and then run a poll again to see if folks want it turned off.

Sounds to me their saying "sit down, shut up, and continue to pony up the 15 bucks a month, we'll get the expansion to you when we are darn well ready." I gave up WoW several months ago. Then started playing CS:S. I have not regretted this. I played WoW for almost a year and came to realize that it is nothing but the same level, loot grind all the way to the end game content and then it starts all over at lvl 60 with the raiding grind to get better gear. I don't miss it at all. It was fun for a while but lost it's appeal somewhere around lvl 57 for me. This is my personal opinion but most folks have to find this out for themselves.

Howdy all. I've been playing now for a couple of months and getting to know some of you. I enjoy the servers and like the peeps playing on them. I tend to gravitate towards Mayheim because I like the scopless option, but I also frequent the others. I am making a request for some addtional maps to be added to the rotation. The map cycle as it stands now tends to get boring after a few cycles. I think if the cycle could be enlarged with few more maps this would enhance the already great environment. thanks
