team fortress Client and Server product versions do not match

Updated TF2, was able to get into our TF2 server last night. But after logging off and trying to get back in, I keep getting this message. Verified my game files. Tried again, no luck. Reinstalled, tried again this morning, still no luck. Any idea what could be wrong? Thanks! -

I have a few suggestions to help improve our server and get more people in it: 1. Make the starting map Dustbowl, Goldrush, or Bad Water 2. Shorten respawn times, maybe 5 secs, put in the server description 3. Include map voting, vote to scramble teams at the end of the round 4. Focus on payload and capture points style maps I've been hopping into some other low populated servers to see how they bring them up, and one cool way is to start off with deathmatch, instant respawn and slow health regeneration. As soon as 4-6 people are on, it switches back to control point or whatever the gamestyle was. This would just require an extra config on the server, so we could exec lowpop.cfg, then exec normal.cfg. Thoughts? Other ideas?

It may seem impractical and silly, but dangit do I love running around as a Demoman with the new halberd.

Seems it doesnt shuffle around admins, or has this been stated all ready? cause it doesnt seem fair that almost every .gc person with reserve rights or admins dont get moved.

Gametracker on this site is showing two people online, but for some reason it won't show up on my server list and I can't join through the game. I heard someone talking about this problem before but can someone tell me how to fix the problem?

Seems like because of conflicting time zones, Admins of the GCTF2 Group on Steam make "Events" to play TF2, BEFORE I have to leave for school, which is around 4-6pm MST. SO I think there should be a strict "Request to Play" Thread for people who want to play, but lack Admin/Mod Powers on the Group Page. What'd you guys think? Also the times I can play are around 10:45pm MST, thats 11:45pm Daylight Savings/12:45pm CST, and 12:45pmDaylight Savings/1:45pm EST

Just a thought. I'm kind of playing this game now since Nightling's buddy convinced me to. Since I don't see the game dying anytime soon, I could volunteer my time to run it if no other TF2 wizard would want to. Not sure how anyone else would feel about it, do I threw a poll up to see what everyone else thoughts are on it.

If you do not have this game and have been thinking of giving it a go, now is the time to buy it from Steam. With the latest update, there is now a surge of gaming activity with the game with several new maps and a major update for the scout class. They even fixed it so spies will no longer get a backstab when face stabbing you.

So I figure we can use this to plan time to try to get a bunch of us to jump on and get it started. The other night we were able to get it filled up, so lets see what we can do. To start - Tonight, 7PM CST, be there!

K, so I started a new thread for suggestions, etc. For admins -- some of the player type things in mani crash the server. Don't use them!! Map changing works fine though... Can we try this rotation to start? pl_badwater cp_gravelpit cp_badlands cp_granary cp_fastlane pl_goldrush cp_well tc_hydro cp_dustbowl ctf_well Also non-stock maps take forever to d/l on the server right now, can we change something to make it faster? (Took me like 5 min...) It is much faster for me on other servers. Can we change the screen that shows when you first join, it has an old maplist on it. Maybe something similar to the one on retro? Need a new version of mani. Also, when we do that can we up the amount of time the menus stay on the screen? It is really quick now and disappears before I can pick something. edit: I wrote some stuff twice. bah...

Anyone want hl2 or hl2:e1? I have em both in multiple copies, which is totally pointless, so they're up for grabs. I know they're kinda oldish now, but they're a lot of fun. I just reinstalled episode 1 to play through it again. Just lemme know.

Update: Team Fortress 2 Fixed Badlands exploits and missing textures Fixed tv_enable resetting maxplayers value Fixed a case where a spy stabbing from the front of a player would score a backstab Fixed stats being reported incorrectly for some players Dropped weapons now replenish half of your max ammo when picked up Added exec'ing a cfg\.cfg file on the client when you select a class to play (for real this time!) Reverted mp_forcecamera changes from previous release and set TF2 default back to 1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fixed my stats being messed up. I played maybe an hour of scout, but my longest life for it it over 4 hours long! I must have gotten backstabbed by a spy (as engineer) while facing the spy at least 5 times. now that's fixed!

To night I heard the worst chatter then any other server I have played on. Yup and I was on ours. Mostly just one clan, and only one of me and I can't really enforce anything since I do not have admin rights. So how bout a list us normal folks can make and someone with the higher power make so? The sailor clan call themselves neG: They were mocking the GC motto texture that is in the spawn rooms to boot.
