If you're looking for an IE based tabbed browser: http://www.myie2.com/html_en/home.htm I used to be a mozilla fiend, but the reality is... 99% of pages out there are tested for IE, and not much else. Sucks, especially when Mozilla renders much better and faster, and cleaner than IE for most pages. But that one page that it doesn't render on... bleh. Drives me nuts.

.gc has a new CoD server: GamersCoalition.com COD TDM - Refuge from Reality 66.208.101.200:28960 18 person max. It's currently set for all TDM and I've got a few questions for everyone: 1) Do you prefer TDM or SD? 2) What do you ping to this server? It's currently up and running -- Enjoy!

I'll help get it set up Fatty, altho I might need some help in keeping it maintained. I have some free time atm, but it's going to get hellah busy again soon. Is FiberFrag going to keep it current in terms of ServerOS patchs and making sure Steam updates properly?

Fatty or whoever has webadmin/localadmin access on the server (new and old), what's the config file look like? Reason I ask is that: http://www.gotfrag.com/cs/features/577/ points out some interesting things about the way netcode works. Jon did a boatload of research including talking to some ppl at Valve about it. Trying to figure out the best settings to have and knowing the server settings for things like: sv_maxupdaterate sv_maxcmdrate sv_maxrate etc would be very useful--might even be worth publishing these config settings with the appropriate recommendations for play on trop on the boards.

The .90s are known for inconsistent quality control. It's sorta like a blind draw--sometimes you get lucky (like Playaa) and they last for a while. I have 4 pairs of them. The first one I bought 4 years ago when they first came out, still works. The other 3 stopped working (one ear went out, mic died, cable came undone) within 3 months. I don't recommend them anymore bcs it's a potluck draw on whether or not you get a good set. The DSP500s are even worse. I've RMAd 5 of them. The Sennheisers are ownage. GotGear has sold hundreds of them and we've RMA'd 5 total. (FLUX) The PC130s are a good buy if you're looking for .90 quality/price--this is usually the entry level model. If you can afford the 55$, go for the PC150s--sound quality as good as the digital DSP500s and great reliability. The PC155s (a USB adapter and a slightly improved PC150 headset) are awesome. Absolutely awesome. If you just want great headphones though, nothing, and i mean NOTHING beats the HD590s. Price is something to consider here too, but they are flat out amazing.

I'm going to try to swing the CoD server for free. I can try for a CS server as well, but to be honest, I think we're better off driving all the traffic to one "Trop" -- Also, Fatty, for the Trop server description @ GD, assuming we go forward with a move, I strongly suggest you change it to: Tropolis has moved to: <new IP @fiberfrag> That might help move people over. Then set the max clients to 0/0 so ppl can't join. They'll hopefully add the new IP to their browser/ASE or whatever and go from there. If there's an overlap on servers, that is. See if FiberFrag will give you the server for free for one month too.

And yes, I started CS in beta5 or 6, in beta7 I started DCHM (Digital Class Hit Men) which was ranked #2 on OGL's pro ladder back in the day. Then Critikalfx[rdw], joeker[rdw] and I restarted [rdw], where I played under the tag rotten[rdw]. That was cs1.0-1.3--I retired after 1.3 bcs I hated all the changes. During that time, I was more of a manager/strat designer than a starter. I moonlighted with MwR in MCC as [MwR]rotten in 1.5 then work, work, and more work got in the way and I basically stopped playing CS. Midway, Coene and the rest of the GotFrag guys brought me on to help translate GotFrag's awesome amount of content and traffic into a real business, so I've been extremely busy with that the past few months. Fats, How many "peripheral" private servers do we have in .gc? Meaning servers rented by teams that are members of .gc? I know we used to have all the country club members running their own private servers for their teams--if that's still something that's ongoing, you may want to mention this to FiberFrag and indicate to them that teams tend to move with us when we switch servers. I know MwR switched from recongamer to GD when Trop moved. So it's not just a discount on .gc servers--he might be willing to give you more if there's referral business as well. Let me know, bcs I'd like to be able to bring this up to RG as well. On a side note, I think it might be worthwhile to add that to the .gc homepage--not just a member listing, but also teams that are affiliated with .gc (costing nothing) just something that would be a nice sense of an evolved community.

I vote to move. I talked to GD, and they're willing to offer some discount, but honestly, I'm not happy with the way they tend to deal with things... GotFrag moved to ReconGamer for a reason. I may be able to swing a better deal at ReconGamer, but they are EAST only, so some folks out west won't ping as well. If FiberFrag is willing to give us a decent deal, that'd be the way to go... I'll get us a CoD server at RG for now so we can twiddle with that game again.

RDW owned it up. Considering it was their first LAN together with this lineup, they did awesome. If they'd been stronger on train, it would have been a different finals match. Overall, it was a great event. Lotta fun, good matches and some real nailbiter rounds with some amazing shots. 3D|Bullseye had an incredible 1v3 to defuse which he won with 2 Deagles and no armor vs rifles and armor. He kept 3D in the tournament and that pushed got them 3rd place. Vesslan and Team9 played an amazing tournament as well but in the end, SK's talent and teamwork finished it off. Alot of upsets too with TEC and zEx getting knocked out early during single elim.

The new Sennheiser PC150's are amazing. You need a decent soundcard to go with them, but the clarity is incredible. They're planning on releasing a USB version which will have an integrated sound card sometime next year as well. I've been a DSP500 fan for years, and I'm likely going to switch to the Sennheisers.

Moss... I'm a coowner in that room. And I know you've seen me there ;p. I dropped the rotten tag for GF mostly bcs I'm inactive in CS and bcs I deal with a majority of the business dealings for GotFrag, and doing business as "Rotten" just doesn't bode well for negotiations. Hehe Bugs. It is I. urK?!? Tek, There will be NO surprises from SpawN's team. He's acknowledged in the pro community as the best player atm. He can literally win a match singlehandedly. There was a movie going around at one point of all the 3-5v1 scenarios taht he'd cleaned up on. zex and GX will hopefully have a great finish. I think zex is more likely to do it personally, but I have alot of respect for the GX guys too. I'm a bit disappointed that 3d isnt there this year--dunno what happened there. And yes, r2k was a blast. rdw actually had 15ppl at taht event. 3 teams competing. I led team 2 (which was basically our 2nd stringers) and we knocked a couple of key clans out of the running. We were trying to have a 3way rdw final, but m1 (wombat's old clan) knocked rdw.team2 out of the running on inferno. I made the mistake of dropping an awp for wombat to pickup when we were CT and that was pretty much all she wrote. Wombat = rail whor... well, you get the idea. That was also destrukt's first LAN match ever playing CS. He won a couple of key rounds for us too. Anyone here going to CPL? If so, I'll be there from Friday to Sunday.
