  1. Mag... I think this mindless game made your spelling careless.
  2. Well, xNetWham sold servers, but ran a large shoutcast station called xnradio. Unfortunately, someone from a rival station (we think) decided to send a 999999999999.99mb packet to one of our servers. Hence the server company charged corresponding to the bandwidth. That single event costed our owner 1500 dollars. This guy was crazy, he put some of our guys out for days from dos attacks. He would get G-lined and still come back. Basically, dont make any enemies and youll be fine, and talk to your server supplier. Also, talk to plantronics, they are really good about sponsoring events, servers, ect... as long as you arent doing anything illegal and are advertising for them. Have fun with it but be carefull.
  3. Be careful. Ive been working for xNetWham, and the company recently got attacked. Our servers got DOS attacked and the owner, and sole contributer was put 2000 dollars in debt. Its hard to make money with selling servers.
  4. It had 7 days left on it. Ill bet ebay shut it down.
  5. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...8&category=1469 First, look at the price, then look at the number of bids, then look at the description. Tell me your jaw doesnt drop at that. (btw there are plenty more just like it)
  6. Probably not, just running off the same server.
  7. It was on the nightly news on nbc last night too.
  8. Have any of you had any success running Counter-strike through wine? I was running knoppix and it opened but i didnt have a cd-key ready. I was just wondering what luck you guys have had.
  9. Maybe you should invest in a new computer.
  10. Tsing Tsao's. (emphasis on the period)
  11. Ghost Console is the coolest thing ever. Setting up AI scripts to do automatic formats and also has the ability to change the computer's name so that you dont have exact clones. Ghost console sends a swap file over the network that hangs in your ram an restarts your computer without loosing the ram, and formats remotely. Its been great not having to travel building to building for easy formats.
  12. wow... first one ive taken... i was surprised to get a 135.
  13. www.mini-itx.com Really cool site that has people making home made cases for their 170mmx170mm motherboards. My favorite is the SX64, with the built in crt.
  14. i would view it as the other way around, intel and amd, being all about speeds and feeds. Having the most pipeline sequences and multimedia extensions (mmx) being the V8 outputing 300 horsepower, but having high torque (for things like rendering and high-end processing) but lower horsepower for the weight (being the opening programs and the long pipeline sequences). The G4 motorola processor would be the 4 cylinder, that has fewer cylinders (like the Reduced instruction set or RISC) but performes better for quick tasks. However the G4 would have a tough time doing a rendering project because of its equivelance to engine torque being low. Its gonna take longer to crank out all that gas with the 4-cylinder.
  15. dont some of those hdtv's have a dvi or vga input?
  16. Gah!!!... mixed stories in my head, i was re-reading my trillian logs about it and they were two separate people who had done it. The celeron 600 was only up around 1.5ghz, it was a p4 that was in the mid 3s... my bad.
  17. this is true, he was a friend from europe, who ended up killing himself, but he said it was true and showed me a screenshot of his sisoft sandra cpu benchmark. I guess he could have doctored it up but i wouldnt doubt its possible. His ran at -40C. There is almost no limit to how much you can overclock with a freon system. Here are some links: http://www.tomshardware.com/cpu/20001103/v...pochill-07.html http://www.tech-pc.co.uk/prometeia-1.php http://www.overclockers.com/articles212/
  18. Freon cooling is really nice, ive seen cases where people have taken the compressor and condenser out of a small refrigerator (like a college dorm one) and mounted it to the reverse side of the case. Those things stay REALLY cold. Or you could buy the Asetek's VapoChill, which does the same thing for a little over 600 dollars. http://www17.tomshardware.com/cpu/20001103...pochill-02.html
