i have the klipsch v2.400, really incredible sound
but since im upgrading, i was thinking about sellin mine
and gettin some kick butt ones
but alas i have no idea whats good anymore
back in the day when i bought these
i was deciding b/w it and the sirroco crossfires
in the end it came down to price
what im looking for is THE BEST 4.1 or 5.1 system
for around 150.00
whadda yall think?
im still building that new computer (all the parts havent come in yet)
but i was wondering if i have a WD hd and a maxtor hd
will that be a problem?
or should i try and get both for same manufacturer?
i already have the wd hd and im about to order the maxtor in a few days
whadda yall think?
thx for the input ranger, but its a little pricey fo me
im prolly gonn take lunks suggestion and go with THE ROCK

i kinda like the drive that comes with the sound blaster audigy 2 zs platinum
i havent read any reviews on this
i can get it fo about 160 shipped
whadda yall think about this buy?
okay...im deciding on a heat sink and fan
but what about a sound card..
i have a soundblaster platinum 5.1, with live drive
so i would prolly like the same thing or one betta
whadda yall think?
i got my:
ram - (2) ddram 512, pc-3200 mushkin
floppy drive
hard drive - wd 120 gb, 7200, 8mb oem
key board and mouse - logitech cordless mx duo
vid card - radeon 9600 xt
mo bo - asus a7n8x-x
cd-rw - liteon 52x32x52x eide (oem)
dvd drive - liteon dvd 16x
case - aspire case with side panel and 420 wt power supply
processor - amd athlon xp2500+, 333 fsb, barton
and the only thing im salvaging from my old system are my klipsch v2400 speakers
all im waiting for now is:
monitor - 21" dell p1110 true flat trinitron
hsf
sound card (?)
headphones - prolly audio 90's
pup convinced me to try and put this thing together myself
and while i was perusing thru some of the help files in these forums
i noticed some things lacking from my computer
and i need some advice on what to get
network card
something to cool my processor
thermal paste
maybe a sound card (is the onboard stuff any good?)
from what ive been reading most onboard sound sux donkey
headphones
im trying to build this new from the ground up and not scavange old parts from this computer
SO anything else yall can think of lemme know
and if u happen to know a reliable cheap place to get these things
id appreciate that too
ps - i would like to say thanks to pup for helping me put this thing together
and doing a ton of research that wouldve taken me at least 1 light year to do
you're the best
cool....is 310 shipped too much to pay for a:
sony manufactured 21" dell p1110 true flat trinitron monitor - refurb
.24 dp
1880/1440 max res
3 years parts/labor
well, ive ordered everything except my new monitor
ive taken the advice of the forums and decided on a crt
im gonna try to nab a +21" monitor on ebay
but im having a hard time
one thing that keeps bothering me is this:
if the discription say "true flat" or "perfect flat" tube
does that refer to the front part of the monitor?
cause the one i got is 22" and the screen is almost flat
but not quite there, are these the same thing -- tube vs screen?
am i being dumb?
that series is second only to "the dark tower"
ive prolly read ender's game 7-8 times
speaker for the dead is good, xenocide is incredible, and children of the mind is really good
any of yall read the ender's game series, by card?
what he said totally smacks of "jane"
and the statement about complex things coming from simple things = not true
take biochem, organic chem, or molecular bio
or read "darwins black box"
and you'll see that small things are just as complex
if not more complex than large things
it was jan 25th or early morning 26th
dont remember
but coupla guys really tk-ing and making things annoying for all
i usually dont care if someone tk's but this was too much

i kinda did the same thing, with the green wall, except
i went row by row, block by block
at the end, i had one left.
yeah, it took me round abouts the same time, 2 hrs
and im telling ya, the 27 step thing was dumb long
