Gooter S and all, According to the wife, everything went well. Counts are up, no major issues, child is happy overall. A good day. Her MTX dose went up as expected: they increase the dose every visit until side effects occur. Our next big milestone is Feb 22nd. That stage is called delayed intensification and lasts for 2 months. The doc said it's rare for kids NOT to get nauseous from the chemo along with other nasty side effects. One causes fever and when it happens, they can't determine if its the drug or an infection so they admit her to the hospital and do it frequently. Because of that, in March you'll see me in the forums more and the servers less because the hospital won't allow me to play CS (I even begged). So MY perspective is: one day at a time, with the 22nd being day 1/60. Until then, we live life as normally as we can. If you got this far, then pay attention to this because I haven't said this in a while. If you have kids: stop reading, get up, and go hug or kiss or check on your kids. No excuses!! Then come back and finish doing what you were doing. Don't you feel better, now? MrDuke

It's about 1:30 a.m. and tomorrow is treatment day. I have to be up in 5 hours to make sure she eats because it'll be the last food she gets all day. Spinals and bone marrow biopsies for sure, at least 2 chemo drugs, maybe more. Nothing new: I've posted this stuff before. The only difference is my heart grows heavier as treatment day nears. I worry...I worry so much. I worry about my wife and how she shows such strength wondering if it's a show, I worry about my son who doesn't get much attention these days and, of course, I worry about my sunshine. She's so brave. I can't tell you how scared I feel when I hold her...how ironic. I was on a pretty good up-swing over the last few days. I had a great time on both servers. I had my short-fuse moments and probably couldv'e handled certain admin situations better, but I'm trying to correct those. It's funny when you go into things with a game plan (stay quiet, let other admins do their thing, watch and learn) and you end up doing the very thing you didn't want to do. I'll get better, I'm sure...just a little green. But a good time, GREAT time for a few hours. Sigh, I'll give you more info tomorrow night. I'm hangin' in there, Duke

I thought it was just some lag on my end. I've seen it happen to a few people and I didn't think much about it until just now. If it was lag, they'd fall behind and then catch up, not streak past me.

The classic still gets people: 3 men check into a hotel and each have a $10 bill. The clerk charges them $30 for the room. Later, the clerk realizes he billed in error and should have only billed them $25. He calls the bus boy and says, "run these five one dollar bills up to their room". Upon entering the room and explaining the mistake, the men give him a $2 tip and each keep a dollar. So, each man spent $9 total ($10-$1=$9) and the bus boy got a $2 tip, which equals $29. Where did the other dollar go?

Personally, I like it but I feel the right answer is to drop it, temporarily. If people are leaving, then they're going to play somewhere else--and I'm assuming we don't like empty servers on our end. Are other servers playing it? If the majority of other servers have it in their rotation, then fewer people would leave ours and I'd say keep it. But for now, I say table it until more places are carrying it. Just my 2 cents.

Just so you all know, I've dropped to #3 on the popularity list in my own house. B Bandit takes top honors as the wife seems ultra-happy ever since he's given so much assistance in her website, her song and her cause. Thanks a bunch for raising the bar. Thanks for making it THAT MUCH harder for me. I can just hear it now..."why can't you be more like bubblegum bandit?!" #2 goes to Gooter. Not that you did anything right or wrong, just the fact that she laughs uncontrollably every time she sees or hears "Gooter". #3 is my spot, for now, but I envision dropping further as other people get involved. When it's all said and done, I should be ranked just above bald tires or used tennis shoes. As long as it keeps Kel and/or Danielle happy, I don't mind. Thanks guys!!

Gruter and Ice, Thank you for your posts. As I've said a many times before, we really appreciate when people post, it makes us feel like it's more than just "us" in our corner. Danielle is doing very well this week since she didn't get her MTX chemo last round due to her having neutropenia (low ANCs). Thursday is treatment day (ugghh) so we'll see how it goes then. Bandit-- is there a way to put a countdown in days on her website?? It primarily would be for Kel and I to keep things in perspective, a light at the end of the tunnel so to speak. Let me know if that's possible. Got a chance to play source a couple of times this week. The first day I did Ok but managed to fire quite a few rounds into a teammate over...um... quite a few rounds of play on .tides. Nice map...I like it. Only problem was that the teammate involved was Lunk, OF ALL PEOPLE. I thought I was going to be the only admin to be banned after 1 day of being an admin. Lesson learned: "Use your radar, brother" [Lunk] My second day was more therapeutic and I held my own. I had Rev's number that night (sorry). Once the rust is off I'm gunnin' for Gooter, who had my number. BTW, if you hear me say I got "gootered", I just got HS'd by gOOter. Hopefully, that won't happen at all. My point of all this blah, blah was that it was more than just another round of CS. It was a HUGE stress reliever and I felt "at home". I know why GC is more than just another clan. Has anyone seen any concrete stories on the 2005 Ford Lightning? MadBean and I each owned one in the early 90's (mine was better and faster) and both of us traded them in for wives. What were we thinkin'??!! Anyway, I was seriously looking at a '02 when I caught wind of the '05 being competition for the SRT-10 Ram Truck. So naturally I don't want a truck with 380 HP when I can wait and have one with 500+HP (guessing). I even have the wife's blessing!!! (signed and notorized--hanging on the fridge).

That's awesome!! I'm REALLY happy for everyone!!!! Good and gracious news always gives ya the warm and fuzzies!! Nothing like good news to roll into the weekend--I'm still praying for everyone and I'm optimistic that this will turn out for the good.
