  1. Cataclysm and Mists have been dubbed the worst of all the expansions, especially Mists. IN fact I stopped playing when I beta tested Mists. When I saw that the level 1 quests for pandas were pretty much the same as lvl 85 quests for starting the new expansion, I gave up. I'm tired of Blizz just re-hashing current quests for lowbies and giving them to the cream of the crop who just dusted the main villains of the prior expansion, only to be given a quests where they gotta find piles of monkey crap or flowers when entering the new zone. IN real life the only analogy I can come up with is going to college and finally getting your PH. D. only to get a job at McDonald's. Anyways, this new expansion seems incredibly promising as they are pushing a pre-release patch like they did when BC or WotLK came out. The pre-release patches for Cata and Pandaland were nothing significant. I do believe this expansion will rival Burning Crusade in terms of lore and size of the new continent (which can only be bigger than the current Outland, which is the biggest continent released for an expansion). Plus many new things may be introduced that bring old players back. I for one and coming back, but not sure when I'll start. I gotta do it so I can level up my shadow priest to 90 before the expansion is released...which could take a week lol.
  2. Suicide Blitz or Suicide Blitz 2? I thought suicide blitz was for lfd and suicide blitz 2 for lfd2?
  3. Is anyone from GC actively playing/raiding? I'm planning on returning to the game after a 2 year hiatus. I was in a #1 raiding guild on my server, and THE highest DPSing Shadow Priest in the server (w/o legendary staff). I just wanted to see if there's a GC guild out there, or if anyone would be interested in creating one. Otherwise, I'm gonna join my old guild I've been with since 2009.
  4. Well it's sitting at 8 right now. I'd say 8 is a good amount of players.
  5. Not to mention this could bring in more members for GC. We should definitely have a high ping/member priority mod like we do in L4D2.
  6. I thought league 1 was already full with 8? Or am I in league 2? Not sure because they aren't labeled as such.
  7. I read everyone else's because this server does matter to me. By the time I got to yours, I already knew what I wanted in life.
  8. I'm back in. My work league already had members before I even started working for the company lol. I'm #5 in league 1 I believe.
  9. Amazing actor and comedian. He also did a lot for the troops while they were deployed. He was a very honorable man. It's a shame he had to go like this.
  10. I would actually prefer to play Monopoly with RL friends than play L4D2...I love that game!
  11. The new server redirects www.gamerscoalition.com to gamrs.co/forums/gcforums, which gives me a 404 error. Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this.
  12. I would say a different timer for different maps works well. A delayed spawn (10 sec) works well for Payload maps. For CP, 5 seconds is good. Instaspawn imbalances some maps too much. Also, HLstatsX is the way to go for ranking. I definitely think we need ranking on the server to build up some regulars that like to stay on top of the ranks. Hell I play on L4D2 just so I can keep my rank up. One other mod we should try that I haven't seen in a long time is the UT2004 death callouts. Basically if somone gets more than 1 kill, you hear "DOUBLE KILL", and then "MONSTER KILL", etc... Kinda fun when dominating. Other than that, keep it vanilla. I highly suggest Toyfort or Lazytown as a couple CP maps. Loads of fun on that!
  13. In case you guys haven't looked, I posted a poll about who wants to play. Please respond so that Flitterkill can get an idea as to how many are actually interested.
  14. Crasx, why did you reply to this and not actually vote? And why do we only have 10 votes when even more people responded on the other thread about wanting the server?!
  15. I"m not sure I'll be in this year. I'm already getting invited to a work-related Fantasy, and plus I'll be doing my annual fantasy league with some high school buddies. A third league is a bit too much to keep track of. If for some reason one of the leagues falls through, I'd be interested, but I won't know till it gets closer to the start of the Football season.
  16. 24 is good. I've also seen more though, but that's on servers that only run 1 type of map. For example Toyfort or Lazytown were 30-40 person servers. Good times!
  17. 10 maps is a lot to deal with. I'd say stick with 4 or 5 good ones, otherwise you'll put off too many players who hate constant map rotations.
  18. Here's a poll for finding out who would play on a GC dedicated TF2 server.
  19. Same here. I find access to laser sights far too easy especially for good players who can buy one as soon they get out of the saferoom door. The points for laser should be on par with other guns. Or some sort of upkeep on lasers, like a 2 minute time limit before it needs to be repurchase again like !ammo. So I guess this isn't General L4D2 chat anymore...since this thread has already morphed into exactly what Pump didn't want. Best part is he's adding to the convo! I'm not ridiculing, I'm just laughing about how any thread we create gets sidetracked. Anyways, I completely agree that the Laser cost is low, esspecially for weapons with higher power, like the AK or M60 (my favorite weapon for Finales). I think the cost for the laser should increase based on the weapon it's getting put on, but start the cost at 5 points, and go up from there, since it's too cheap to begin with. I don't think there should be a timer on the laser though...that just adds to frustration. On a side note...here's my own zombie stomper:
  20. It was fun....except that the map seemed a little long, even for the first map. I agree with Dumplings, the first and 2nd maps were rediculously long, plus there was no set way to travel. Groups of people were headed in different directions and still ending up together. Fun map for survivors, but kinda boring for infected. I would have to say there were a couple spots that were awesome for chargers, but no one noticed in time to spawn in and charge them off the cliff or roof..except me! Anyways, fun times though! I had more fun playing Jackie Pathing on No Mercy than the new campaign. How was the third map? Was there a finale? Also, Jackie, you should upload your modified No Mercy and Dead Center pathing maps to steam workshop. I'm betting they'd get a ton of downloads!
  21. The three most popular servers I've ever seen (that always had regular players show up) were 24/7 CP_Toyfort, 24/7 CP_Lazytown_Lazynite, and a server that ran all Payload maps (there are a set of payload maps that all interlink from start to finish, and if a team kept winning thier payload match, they'd progress to the next map, but if they lost, the other team would start off where the opponents lost, and if they both lost, the maps would recycle to the 1st map again). What I would suggest is that we stick to 1 set of maps per day, and have them rotate to a different style of gameplay (from CP to CTF to Payload) every 24 hours after a server restart. I've never seen a successful server that just plays random styles of gameplay after every round. Another suggestion would be to run a current style of gameplay after 5 matches...and if the 5 matches don't end before 24 hours is up, the next style will automatically start. I only suggest the last part because I've seen matches like Toyfort or Lazytown where no one wins for hours because all the regulars know where to fight and build. There's a lot of different ways to do this when going for multiple maps, but it adds complication. That's why I think a different style every 24 hours might work best.
  22. Here's toyfort: And here's Lazytown:
  23. I have a ton of ideas for this if this becomes a reality...including a map list. One map in particular is CP_Lazytown. This map would draw an entire community in for hours at a time. Sometimes it took hours to win, depending on strategy. Also, CP_Toyfort. This map was amazing for it's ability to allow for engineers and demos to build and fight from atop very high platforms. Takes a lot of strategy and patience to get up to those areas! God I miss those days. I remember one time I spent 36 hours straight on ToyFort because it was so addicting!
