  1. So from what I've heard this works YaY though people downloading from server will not see the map preview on screen first time DLing it because it is inside the .bsp file. Next time they play the map they will see it, but radar will be there in game.

Ok changes to map for the final version ( I hope) Added snipers nest in the form of an office in siteB that over looks area from CT spawn( fastest route from A) Cosmetics- Added tunnel as a viewable only entrance into the canyon. smoothed out the displacements (canyon walls) in sky box. added some stuff like locker room upstairs site B and some small stuff. Changed a few minor textures and added some light in a few dark places. oh yeah Almost forgot. Changed the 2 operating doors to breakable doors like in nuke. I turned everything I dared into a func_detail and have it fully compiled. Which is about as optimal as I know how to make it. Also added a custom nav with place names de_canyon Final.zip

      7/10 was gonna give you 5/10 but noticed you used the correct form ( they're) grammar is nice. Don't abide by it much myself but appreciate it when others do.

  5. I'm better with m4 90% of the time. On the rare days that I'm rocking the AK I can't shoot the M4 good to save my life
  6. you say that but I've played some guys in CMM that can put 3 rounds in you with an m4 with one burst at a distance of DD's long A to Long A corner everytime. I was thinking hacks but I don't know. Since playing that guy ,who pretty much built up a brick wall at long A, I've ran into a few players who burst fire that effectively.
  7. Whew! I think I just dodged a bullet @ work! I work in a group of 5 estimator/programmers. We have our own little building. Where we listen to music or do whatever as long as were working. Guy across from me Just got selected to move to the main office in a little room little bigger than a closet to just work on quotes. While the rest of us keep on programming orders only. He'll have people all over his office all the time and rarely get peace. This probably happened to...

      I thought it was going to be me because they wanted to streamline all quotes for "swaggin" but one phase / structural rolling is my specialty. He doesn't know a thing about it and they said they wanted it all going through there but I"m retaining rolled quotes cuz I'm the only one who knows our limitations and such. whew!

Once I get the map finalized and packed I will make sure you get credit on game banana and the work shop ps good job taking that orange blob off beside Site B I forgot to nodraw.text that space. Latest version has it drawn with the nodraw.texture
  9. btw what was wrong? The only thing I can think of is something wrong with the coordinates Looks really good MaRvIn the copy I have here at work is de_canyon_rc2 I changed names on files to that and worked great. I'm going to optimize the map a bit more and use this file. I'll figure out packrat and have it ready for the next DL hopefully for the final version.
  10. ok so now all I'd have to do is change the name of these files to reflect the current name of the map/ which will be ok since there will be no major layout changes from here on out. btw what was wrong? The only thing I can think of is something wrong with the coordinates
  11. you know you have to change your reso to certian number and write down the coordinates right?
  12. Marvin the only problem I see is that you "white-ed" out the part at site A where T's come down the ramp into the stream right below the boat / beside the tower
  13. also would like to say to anyone who was expierencing choppyness I didn't realize I left my compile on fast and fast for lighting and vis-porting thats a cheap way to compile for quickness. I ran a full compile which will help out some . I've also gotta go tie some entities off as details / so they won't take up so much space. Optimization is in the future.
  14. looks good to me. if you get it turned into a .dds put it and the text file in a zip folder and attach on a post here in the forums. I could then alter names and pack into the latest version
  15. rc# dont' reallly know what that rc stands for...... I'm assuming it means "really close" so that is what I 'm going with. San', you put the B7 up there but I didn't really ask you to / its a fine enough version but this is a better version de_canyon_rc4.zip
  16. yo poopity I've gotten more random peeps to join while play testing my new map de_canyon_beta whatever version than changing the server to Dust 2 lately.. Then when server filled up to 8 vs 8 on canyon I initiated a vote "nextmap" regular rotation or more customs - customs won the vote like 70/ 80% ... changed the map to de_seventowers_beta whatever and initiated same vote and more customs won agian...... something to think about ...
  17. Basically ESEA was selling your CPU / to the world for usage if the client was left on and you weren't actually using it. Earning Bitcoins / which were being redeemed for cash... I think that sums it up. It was caught because Anti virus software started alerting users it was male-ware ... which it turns out it was...
