I like the 3d shoot em up so I have to say I think this is the funnest game I've played yet. starcraft is pretty cool. I'm going to try star wars galaxies since I've heard such good stuff about it. Also I totally dug on opposing force single player. Aug

Lunk, me again. I just did a search on Yahoo shopping for "digital camcorder" and I set the price range from 200-400 and there are a few digital cams that come up for about 209.00 (samsung). there was a canon elura 50 which i believe will capture from your hi-8 via a digital port (ieee). anyhow give those a look as a possibility. Lunk if you do look at purchasing a Digital cam then a 680,000 pixel cam is what you should grab. Nothing less than that. I found a RCA model with a 3" lcd screen on it which is really nice. Auggy

Well I hope you had a nice Christmas bro. Concerning Video. I do alot of video work on my PC using a Digital Cam and Vegas Video (great software). First off I don't know what model of dazzle your using or how you are using it. This may matter. I can't say but I think it should work descent. There are high and low end models so thats a bit tuff to say. I don't think the AIW 9600 pro is going to do much good. First off I don't think the graphics engine is very good on that card in comparison to a 9800 or a 8500 pro. anyhow I know this isnt all that helpful but I think if you don't get anygood advice here then let me point you to a place where I get all my video help from. try goint to www.sonicfoundry.com/forums create a login in and password (register) and then to to VEGAS forums put up a post there and these guys know EVERYthing about Video Vegas is owned by Sony. In case no one here had much info you WILL get a good answer there you might have to bump your post but you'll get an answer. Dude, you know Digital Cams start at about 399.00 now. Their desent too. you ohgt to put money in that instead of a graphics card that renders 8mm or vhs. Also if you get a Digital camcorder be sure it has a input to take your old equipment and render it. I can plug in your camera into my dig camcorder and then firewire it into the computer to capture video from your 8mm. Alot of the dig camcorders have this feature so if you go that route make sure and get it so you can DVD it. Now concerning DVD software if you want DVD menu building look into DVD arcitect by sony (same as the link above) only dont buy it from them if you do get into that. I know a place that sells both vegas video and dvd arc for like 375.00 instead of 800.00 and its legit! No piracy no academic! I'm interested in getting a card reader. the one I'm looking at is a 3 1/2 bay (floppy replacement). If I take out my floppy will it be possible to boot from a flash card or do bios sys. not allow this? I think the main draw back is that I won't be able to read a floppy right? Aug

Ok so be it! True playaa I don't mean totally free. But my opinions have been nothing except the movies are not all that. I don't think I violated any rules. Except to hurt a few feeling about a movie But enough said about my gripes I think everyone knows my feelings on it ROFL As for Golum dude I can't say enough about that cat. I want a whole trilogy on that dude and his adventures. That would float my boat. One thing I can say is I want to see shirley mclains face when this movie goes up for movie of the year (yes I don't think it should but everyone else loves it). I don't know if anyone remembers her comment and the academys when Beauty and the beast went up for movie of the year....She dogged it. I saw the movie at Disneys El Capitan and I must say it knocked my socks off for a musical animation. I was alright with it as a nomination (not as a winner though, sort of . So it was argued should animations be considered for movie of the year. Should an animated character be nominated for supporting roles? If golum got a nomination ID VOTE FOR THE DUDE!!! I dont buy the lochness. I saw a special how they drug out remote subs, Top of the line sonar and these guys all said "aint nothing down there not even caves to explore". I lost my wishful thinking at that time. Do you suppose Sasquach is real too? I don't buy that. Also if Dino's were on the ark how come they didn't repopulate like the rest. Don't you think we'd have hebrew, asyrian, myan and egyptian tales of this. I dont recall ever reading about David or Adam or anyone running from a T-rex. I'm not saying they were real, I'm saying I don't think they were around the time of the ark. Otherwise I think we'd see em today. Besides this I believe the bones are petrefied where items found from a few thousand years are not. I know nothing about fossilization mind you. But I don't see how God would tell em put 2 of each land animal in 7 pairs (male and female) clean - 2 pairs (male and female) unclean - 7 pairs (male and female) birds. I do believe that if there were no classic novels (the movies were original) people would not be saying what they say. These movies did not challenge me in any way to feel anything towards any of the characters EXCEPT Golum who is superb. as for your statment Go review Fried Green Tomatoes or something, and leave this for the fans who A- Love the movies/books B- Have a imagination, and C- Understand the intensions by Token and the changes in direction by Jackson. 1) never seen Fried Green tomatoes. no I wont leave this forum simply cause your feelings are hurt. I do feel there are some great points made (especially via golum and frodo) but thats far from enjoying the movie. For example I think (again I think) Frodo and Golum are reflections of each individual. Seperate entities who symbolize each one of us and our dilemas and descisions. I'm probably totally wrong cause I certainly am no philosopher. But I tend to see such a great picture of faith and doubt in these 2 characters. Of course it is their story that won my opinion in movie 2. 1 was a dud in my opinion. Now with all that said seriously linch I'm not trying to bring anyone down. I just had so many problems through the series and I think it's because I'm not baffeled with battles and action to the point that I excuse other points. I felt like these movies could or should have been done with more seriousness. For example Alien is filmed in a serious manner. Anticipation in Alien if PERFECT. I think with the style of LOTR it should have been scary when they go into scary places. Perhaps I'm way off....Heak I never did like New kids on the block when all america loved em. Well, cheers! I totally saw the same movie as Crow. One of the all time battles was ruined by the ghosts from haunted mansion. THAT WAS LAME guys. To see them raid the orcs like that was not even comical. I thought to myself..."RATS! they ruined yet another part." T3 wins it for the crane scene in my opinion (awsome job in that movie). Sauron is a punk no matter what you all say. So someone like mag is way better than mei in cs. I can kill him. BUT there are more than one player. If you took the best CS player (sayron) do you think me and another newbie can kill him?. 2 times the bad guys got punked and that ruins a good movie. Look its real simple. In no part of this so called classic did I ever feel like there is littlle or no hope. WHY? Easy, cause you always know theyre gonna get felix's magic bag of tricks and pull out some dead army or some other lame mug reason to win what could have been a all time classic battle and eventually the war. In such a story I think it's VERY important to make one feel like there is no hope. I never felt it through the whole series...in other words "PREDICTABLE AS HEAK". and anything with more than 17 endings needs to be edited! And that is a FACT friends. Sorry to rain on everyones parade but I'm just saying pay attention and you'll see how predictable it is. You'll see Frodo from the beginning is WAY too dramatic..."I want to hear more about sam....Frodo baggin would never have made it this far without his freind sam." that line was classic (comical). Reminds me of "your in my very soul tormenting me....." hahahahahahah aha hahahahahaha If someone can tell me how a great warrior like sauron with this great powerful ring got punked ONE ON ONE (in CS its team effort) then I may watch the movies again to reform my opinion. But anticipating 3 3-hour movies of melodramatic acting is hard to do. The one thing no one seems to agree with me is the GREAT CGI work and PERFORMANCE of Golum. THAT GUY MADE THE 2ND MOVIE. Also I'm looking into the philosophies of the series....Perhaps this will change my opinion of the storyline. Crow is right...Indy, Star wars (4,5,6) are simply better. They just didnt have the CGI to do the stuff of today. Imganine Empire strikes back today with the THX surround and CGI (and better directing than lucas hahahahah ahahahah aha) Auggy OUT!

FINALLY someone who uses a CS analogy to set my ways straight. Thank you Rack! I was laughing soooo hard when I read that AWSOME! Now concerening my freind, I saw it alone. No friend, just me. You may be right. I don't recall them explaining in the movie the only thing these guys can do is defend. I remember the explanation that they will follow the king of gondor and aragon is that. So he gives him the sword to prove it to them so that they will help him. I dont recall him saying "they will defend Minus T because they are sworn to it but are awaiting the king of gondor to lead them". Perhaps they did. Heak with all the thees and thous I start to get a bit weary of the smack. Now concerning him not getting worked. Theres no way in HADES your gonna tell me that the ranger or legolas can kill so easily and lose to a girl and a hobbit. YOU know dang well they would have killed her in about .003 seconds with the hobbit falling at .5 seconds due to his small hard to hit size. All in all they would last .5 seconds agains either legolas or aragon. Now the powerful witch king is either a punk or a idiot. I think he's a bit of both. My point is that it presents the bad guys to be a bit of a push over when they talk and look so dangerous. The same thing I feel is true of Sauron and the ring. If Gandalf is right then all this should never have happened. If Sauron is so unstoppable with the ring then why did he get whoooooped the first time. HE SHOULD HAVE WON. So I've been told (according to the book) it was a lucky stroke of the sword. Then the obvious response is...If it only takes a lucky stroke of a small sword to bring down the ultimate power then the ultimate power is not ultimate at all but is nothing more than a trash talking yellow tooth punk! It cannot be true that getting a hold of the ring spells doom since all it takes is a lucky stroke of the sword. Who knows it may happen again. I still am not convinced this part of the story makes sense. Seems (again i say it seems not it is) illogical. Perhaps Sauron is just not too intelligent. Is he as dumb in the book as they present him in the movies? Aug

thats a bit better but it still doesnt explain how they forgot about it. It's like no one knew but Elrod (elron whatever it is). Seems Gandalf or Aragon should have known this. And if someone knew about it that sword should have been reforged long ago in case the time came. All in all it seems a bit lame (movie wise) to drop a bomb like that. It's like the most important weapon for those parts is forgotten by all but the elvin king. But at least I'm not left thinking they could have attacked mordor. chuckeslove, I think that would have been better to show in the movie than how golum turned evil. We already know his story. I think if they would have shown how the dead army was and the story surrounding them it would have helped. Although I still think they're lame. A ghost army is a bit too far fetched for me. Then again I hate fantasy movies. Though these are much much better than Excalibur or conan. However Monty Pythons Holy Grail is still better Long live the death bunny. Auggy

my friends, my feinds I am not the only one who finds these inconsistencies annoying. If you look on the web you will find a few who find more than what I have found. They read the books and they're more harsh than I am. At least I have not read them and I have stated before (on another topic) that the books may resolve this (but if they did I wish PJ would have put them in the movie). It's sort of like star wars with anakin catching up to amadala in age. Lets just face it he aged and she didnt. LAME I know they say she did but we all know LUCAS jacked that one up. Well I don't remember them saying you have to defent mt. I'll bet if Gandalf was asked where should he go with the Army of the dead Gandalf would say OHHH YEA go to mordor. The others still came to defend which is what Gandalf was counting on. So it is not as though they didn't send the help hoped. Face it guys, unstable and inconsistent. and pulling out this dead army is no stephen king resolution. I have to say I think Weaveworld would make a better series for fantasy type of movies. I give it a C no matter what 6 year old may say; no matter what 13 year old; no matter what 30 or 60 year old. I see the main legion fighter get whooped by a girl and I think...."aaaahhhahahahahahahaha what a punk" I'll say it again...give sauron the ring and he'll get beat down again! Aug OUT!
