Well, if you really want to be accepted you need to stop shooting me. Since I'm the MOST LOVED member in the community, it upsets everybody when I'm killed. So, please refrain from putting bullets into me.

Right click on the drive - go to Properties. From there, go to the Security tab and click on the Advanced button. Go to the Owner tab and add in a new owner and replace it on all subdirectories. If that's already done, it may simply be a permissions issue - from the Security tab add in the appropriate users and replace it on all subdirectories. By default, EVERYONE has full control in most folders in Win2K - but if you moved the drive over from a different install of 2K, you may need to essentially "reset" all those permissions.

Dirk, To the best of my knowledge nobody in Mmmm has anything against you (or any of the other members that left). I think, ultimately, we were hurt at the split - but there's no hate involved with the individuals. Any harsh feelings are probably directed on how the split happened. We can debate all day long the why's and how's of the members that left Mmmm, but I'm not sure anything positive would come of it. What's done is done. (if you were referring to me as the individual who never responded during the break-up: I waited a couple days to get both sides of the story and then I chose to stay with Mmmm. I did communicate this with boomstick and wished him well. If you weren't referring to me, ignore that part). The conversations we've had in our private boards is nothing new. Whenever something that effects the group comes up, it generally gets posted and people shoot out their opinions. That is how we communicate and keep things clear and in the open. I don't think there was any malice in Fat posting the conversation. You approached him as a representative of some community members and he, as a good leader, relayed that information to his team. I would be upset if he DIDN'T communicate these types of conversations. If its going to impact Mmmm, I want to know about it. Can Fat be a Bastard sometimes? Yes. And if he was any different, I think Mmmm would have faded away a long time ago.

I guess what I meant was, on my old machine I had the latest VIA drivers and still had the issue. But that was 6 months ago, so that could have been the issue. My new machine (ie, the one I'm using now) doesn't use the VIA chipset.

Using NTFS? You may need to "take ownership" of all those files.

Moss, I'm not using a VIA chipset - although I have on other machines and I had the latest 4-1 drivers. Playaa, you may not have any problems at all. It appears not everyone has the problem (but its not just me! I swear!).

I'm just cursed Zap. Its my lot in life. Apparently only users with XP/Soundblaster ever have the problem. I'm running retail CS .. not the mod ... you?

I have a 19" and I believe it as running at 85 as well. It supports up to 120 but I noticed my 3DMark scores went in the crapper when I went above 85. Wasn't too happy about that.

I've long had problems with voice comm in CS. After a lot of hunting through forums and support threads, apparently I was not alone. There is a problem with some (maybe all?) configurations that combine Windows XP and a SoundBlaster card. I have built 3 different systems the last 2 years all with the same type of setup and I've had problems with all of them. When you transmit voice, the transmit goes on-off-on-off-on-off ... making your voice chop up. Very annoying. There are a number of "tweaks" and "hacks" but I had ZERO luck out of all of them. Anyway, to the best of my knowledge, there is no fix yet. I had to enable my onboard audio and move my mic connection from my Audigy over to the onboard audio. Then I had to change my mic input to the onboard audio and all works well. So, if you have mic problems and have XP/Soundblaster - you may be hosed unless you have access to another sound card.

I solved the problem to the toilet seat years ago. I just pee ALLLL OVER it and leave it down. Soon after, she begged me to leave it up.

I can see how this is related to Christianity ... At any rate, I like women of all "hair" colors ... man, pick a color and I can name a beautiful girl with that color. To me, without question, a woman's personality has a huge contribution to her overall "appearance". There have been beautiful girls that I have been totally unattracted to because of their terrible personality and attitude. And there have been average to homely girls I've thought were gorgeous because they were incredibly cool. But take it from me when it comes to selecting a woman. While playing a game of Battlefield 1942 tonite with a couple buddies...we join a random server.... And lo' and behold ... [DLM] pops into the server, in force! Stroop, Fish and HighPlainsDrifter float in for a couple hours! They were less than sociable. Obviously not as amused at the random encounter as I was.

Obviously you guys forget that MC_Ranger is part of Mmmm. So feel free to take back the votes of all those wanna-bes and give them to me!

Also, I believe Creative has an app called "Creative HQ" Open that up and somewhere in there is a speaker setup. Make sure it is setup to be 2 speakers or 4 speakers or whatever the case may be. For example, on my Audigy, it is setup to be 4 speakers for my surround, then I patch my headphones into my front speaker setup.

Hambone: I'm fairly sure you haven't read the Bible front to back, yet you constantly criticize it. Your rules go both ways. My point about this post being deleted is that this forum was created for Christian beliefs, not as a posting ground for atheists trying to convert people or disprove God. Some of this debate has been real good, but much has gotten out of hand. It belongs somewhere else. I think Rev has been incredibly gracious to let this thread get this far.

I just scanned through pages and pages of posts from Hambone. While I'm sure he is a very smart kid, please don't equate cuts and pastes of other peoples' thoughts and research into intelligence. Hambone is blaming religion for all the bad things that happen in this world and when somebody calls him on it, he flings words like "Nazi" around. Everytime he comes up with a solid point, he taints himself with phrases like "religion is for the weak". I, personally, cannot take anything he says seriously. He is hostile and offensive and uses "truth" as a flimsy shield. If he hasn't already, I'm sure he'll hollar about "freedom of speech" and maybe throw a reference in about Martin Luther King. I'm going to refrain from joining this "debate" because that would lend credibility to a topic that really has no place in this particular forum. You can tell by the tone of his posts and his hostility toward religion/God that he is trying to come to grips with some personal issues. I hope his suffering ends soon because, at 17, you have a long way to go and if you're not careful, you will end up full of the only emotion you claim exists. I'd just assume see this post deleted from this forum. It has gotten out of control and doesn't belong. Ranger P.S. I'm already an Evolutionist, so don't waste your time replying with more religious-like preaching of science.

Oh...and if a game were to give me the enjoyment that UO and AC did, there's pretty much no fee I wouldn't pay a month to play. $10, $50, $100 .. whatever. As much fun as I had, it'd still be a deal.

To add on to Homer's post... I played UO like a banshee for at least a year and when AC came out I pretty much gave up about 18 months of my life. I was only a monarch for a short time but I was a major player in a large monarchy for a long time with a couple hundred followers. I love mmmmooorrrppgss and can't wait for the next one. At this point AC2 was my next target, but after spending some time in beta I'm totally turned off by the shallow character development and weak combat system. They should have combined the graphics of AC2 with the strengths of AC to come up with an incredible game, but it seems they have fallen short. Shadowbane has some potential as does AC2 if they revamp the character development. We shall see.
