is the ping consistant? Or does it sporadically happen, and not very often? If its constant, it may be your modem(cable?) If its not then I dont really know what to say... But if you do have cable modem, first try unpluging(this reset it) for about 30 secs. This will erase anything having to do with cloging of the modema nd allow it to cool down(was mine and mary's problem for about 4 weeks). If the problem consists, call yuor cable company and tell them you need a new one. As soon as we got our new modem , we havent had a single problem. Tahts all i can tell you for now. Ask Wanted in 17 States, he'll know what to do if this problem consists beyond what i siad. also, try defraging your hd, resetting your ethernet card, and eraseing your temp folders. This will help clear anything inside your comp for better performance no matter what is going on. I do these things every few days(defrag/ dump temp folders once a day). jane
