  1. My vote (as a humble banning admin): -Time served for the initial offense -3 weeks for lying about not knowing the rules -2 weeks for making this a third banning (the one ban for eating isn't that big of a deal; as noted by length of ban) Special note: this is the last chance, one more strike and you are off our servers. This is more about lying and repeating the same offense then anything else.
  2. Of course, becasue the "H" stand for "human." Name implies function, or in this clase, that which is infected.
  3. I would have been able to make Thursday night. But, we had a huge storm. The entire area was without power; no street lights, no stop lights, no stores with power, no house with power for a light. We just got out power back at 545am. I so wanted to play too. On a side note, I now understand the baby boom.
  4. Ohio? Negative; there are no native monkeys in Ohio. Canada is where all the monkeys can be found.
  5. When I rush, it is the ground that moves, I just stand still.
  6. I have a feeling this was my ban. I recall recently that a person kept whining during the game. I didn't warn until s/he used the word BS. I then did an admin chat across the server warning about using the abbreviation. That person kept with the routine, so I banned them. I make this post only to suggest that if was me, there was a warning. That being the case, I have nothing else to add then what has already been said.
  7. If Thursday doesn't fill, I can come late.
  8. Posting as this was my ban. Just thought I might mention that he isn't completely honest. He has been banned before for nearly the same thing. So, he should be somewhat familiar with our rules. All of his posts have been in the ban forum. All that being said, he was banned just as he said. I don't suggest remaining banned just due to this banning, but perhaps the powers that be might consider some delay considering the url(s) given above.

    I've been wronged

I don't ask "WWJD." This isn't a job. I made a choice to be nice. This wasn't, and isn't for recognition. I did it to help her out. I didn't need a thank you, and I am not doing it to prove I am nice guy. I don't have to do this. Just as she made a choice to wrong me, I am making a choice to no longer help her. That doesn't make me a bad neighbor, nor negate that I am still a good neighbor. There isn't a need to cause damage to anything she has. After I am sure she has called the cops, I will tell her she now must find someone to take care of her lawn. Also, I didn't do this to get a carte blanche. Had she asked me to move it, told me to shut my dog up, I would have. I just don't like how she did it. I don't think anyone could expect their neighbor to act this way (at least when you have done as I have). So as for exposing myself to it - I just never expected it.

    I've been wronged

I can't do that Duke. Why would I continue to spend my time and money on a person who acts as she has? Now I have to pay a ticket because she felt like calling the cops about a car that wasn't even there 12 hours (when she complained), and wasn't going to be an issue for her since she was going back to Iraq. Her actions are meritless. I just spoke with the mutual neighbor. She is going to give her the info and my email so we can chat. Perhaps she has a good explination. The mutual neighbor doesnt think she called about the dog. She doubts the car too. I told her what that guy said, and she thinks it was him. Perhaps that could be... I guess we will find out soon.

    I've been wronged

I have no doubt she had a hard time over there. I don't need to know details; all that doesn't matter. Anyone can come back and ask a person to move the car instead of calling the cops, or explain why they called the cops on our dog (who was not barking). The issue here is that as kind as I have been to her, calling the cops on us twice is just wrong. I didn't ask for money for what I have done, but I do ask for respect - and perhaps more respect then would be given otherwise. Her answer about the dog seems to suggest she wanted drama, and the car seems to suggest she wants to cause trouble. After all, she isn't even here for the car to be a problem for her. Why call the cops?
  12. I'm frustrated. My neighbor has been in Iraq for over a year. She left shortly after she moved in. During the time she has been away, I have mowed, fertilized, and trimmed her lawn. She came home about a week ago. After she got back, on a Saturday night at 9pm, the cops came to our door. The cop said that a neighbor complained about our dog barking. I'm not saying that our dog never barks, but the dog barking that night wasn't our dog - and our dog seldom barks. Besides that, it was 9pm on a Saturday. I suspected it was her just because in the 3 years we have had our dog, we have never had an issue, but the day she comes home, we do. A few days later I saw her out front. I asked if our dog bothered her the other night. She said "no." But she knew the cops were looking for a dog barking. Although anyone can infer that the cops were there after I asked her, she didn't even wonder - she stated that she knew that is why the cops were out and about. Yesterday we got a ticket on my mother-in-law's car. She has parked it on the street because it was leaking oil. It was going to be fixed on Friday, but she parked it in front of the neighbors house (another car was in front of our house) on Wed. The ticket we got said the car had been there for over 48 hours without being moved (true) and that a person had complained. I called the cops to find out who complained (if the could tell me), or at least what they said. The cop said that he couldn't tell me who called, but the person stated, "I don't want any trouble with my neighbors, but..." I figured it was the guy across the street that has four cars and parks in front of our house all the time. I no longer suspected our neighbor because she went back to Iraq the other night. So, when I saw him getting out of his car (my pc is in a room that faces the street), I ran out to talk. I told him that he ought to be careful because someone is calling the cops on cars parked here. He immediately pointed to our neighbor's house. He told me that he saw her talking to the cop on Wed (the day the ticket is dated for starting the 48 hours). Well now she is no longer here for me to confront. But I don't think I need to doubt who has been calling anymore. I left a note on our shared neighbor's door, who keeps in email contact with her. I explained the situation, and asked that she tell her that unless she can deny it - and convince me - then she needs to find someone to start mowing her lawn; as of right now, I am not mowing it. This all just angers me. I've taken care of her property for over a year now. I spent money on the weed killer, fertilizer, and gas. That doesn't even consider my time spent. I never asked for anything in return, nor would I have wanted anything. I thought I was being a good neighbor to a person fighting for the country. Now, I feel wronged. How dare she? All she had to do was talk to us. I can't figure out why she would act this way.... but now she has an enemy where once stood a good neighbor.
  13. Wish your uncle well... and tell your dad to drive safely.
  14. It is hard thing to turn them down. But they only wanted me for summer. I have a full time job that pays very well, and I have big bills. My current employer could just let me go if I try and leave for three months. What I needed from him was an early indication in the least, and a full time job at the most; they did neither. The other negative for them, they do tort law. I am starting to think I want IP law. Arguably, I will gain more $ doing the IP law then the tort law. Of course experience is experience, but desperation removes complacency. I have my eye on Procter and Gamble. They are doing fall interviews, and I am going to play hard ball for them. I just hope I don't end up jaded over this move, but at this point, I consider it the best decision. I'm 30 years old, and I don't have much time to finish educational avenues before I have to start reproducing.
  15. This firm is one of the top firms in Cinci. I know it would have been the best thing for me to work for them, but it just can't happen now. I have to leave work (and like I said, they have worked with me for this summer), and my classes are just too much to work full time for them. Thanks for the advice X. I will call them come fall. If they hire the other person who they interviewed (my study partner - who is also top 10), then I will know... of course they could hire someone else, but we found out there was just the two of us (she has an inside connection).
  16. I've paid lots of $ for the classes, and I am beyond full refund. Also, if I don't take them now, then I would extend my day to graduation for another semester.
  17. End match: I got the call on my vm yesterday. L left a message, "duma, I'm so sorry for calling you this late, but we want to hire you. Please give me a call." The thing is, I took extra classes this summer. My work bent over backwards for my schedule. This guy calls long after he should have, so now I don't want the job.... but I know I need the experience. So.... (call law office): D: May I speak with Terry X please? (ring) L: DUMA! D: Hi Terry, how are you? L: Great! I feel like a schmuck. D: Why? L: Because I took so long calling you back. D: Ah, that is okay, but it does lend to a problem. L: Oh no, you found another job? D: No, I have taken extra classes. L: Oh. So... then you don't have any time during the day? D: No, unfortionatly I don't. However, if you need someone full time in the fall, I could do that. L: Well, we *might have to take you up on that. We will be in touch. D: Okay, goodbye. L: goodbye Yeah.... he is a schmuck because I really would have liked to have worked for them this summer.... it is just too late now. *might means never... at least that is what I am told.

    Last final?

Me too Ebil... Hooray Summer School!
  19. You use casemaker? Is that to suppliment Lexis/Westlaw, or is it exclusive?
  20. Crunch the numbers. Then decide whether saving lots of $ is worth living at home. Moving out will cost a lot more, but staying at home could come at a social/physcho cost as well. I chose to go away to school, and I still suggest the same to anyone that asks. It will cost you, but the rewards are far greater. Oh... but I do have one problem with your plan: moving in with a boyfried/girlfriend. There are a good number of issues with that idea. Have you thought much about that?
  21. *gg *happy I finally got to play.
