Hey all. I was wondering if it were at all possible to add a Mod to an existing GC server for CS:Source. I've noticed that the mini game server is mostly dead quite frequently but I was wondering if it were possible to install a Mod to that server to see if we could bring back some more traffic to it. The one Mod that comes to mind is the Zombie mod. I'm sure there have been several revisions to it now, but I think it would be a great game mode that would be fun for everyone. I'm also up for suggestions on other game types, maps etc. and if I can think of any more I'll be sure to let you know.

rolf. glad you cleared that up. The Plantronics audio .80's are quite small and worked pretty good. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> it still seems a bit big... the temple pieces look like they are not adjustable. hmmm... I would be a fool not to clarify the age of my wife prior to that statement.

Hey all, Have a question about headsets. I have decided to embrace my Wife's inner Gamer. (not that I really didn't before) For mothers day last year, I built her 2.4ghz intel machine 1gig of ram, ati 9200se 128mb. (handme down ) complete with all the stuff that Wives/girlfriends like, Lots of LED's and UV crap. smile3.gif Well, up untill a week ago, she didn't game at all. she used the machine to Pw00n3x0r Live journal. Now she's into World of Warcraft, completely addicted. So, I have a Teamspeak server and am trying to get her and her friends to use it, but she needs a headset. I picked up The Altec Lansing AHS302i for her however they are too big and do not sit right. Conventional "head phones" have the same problem. (she has a small head) So I was wondering, does anyone know of a good headset that would fit the head size of a 13-16 yr old? (for the record, my wife is 23) No preferance between USB or 3.5mm plugs. Must be a headphone/mic combo, and under $60

Hey all... I have a HP p1100 22" monitor (crt) which has what best can be described as a *Sizing* issue, and I need some imput. Ok, you know how if you first turn on you monitor the picture is small then it becomes bigger to fill the screen? it does that very quickly over and over and over again. The picture quality is still great, aside from the fact that it's jumpy, but I really want to save this monitor... This happens regardless of having a video source or not. (i.e. connected to the system, or just pluged into the wall) Any Sugestions?

I agree with both of you, however, history shows that the regular laws of Supply and Demand do not apply to the Oil companies. I honestly think we're at the brink of having "Standard Oil" again. (the old monopoly for those who didn't know Every time up to this point, there have been many "temporary emergancy increases" in our gas prices, however they will go up about .50-.75 and stay there for several months. Since our society is pretty much dependant on it, will not *boycott* or just not buy it, we all have a tendancy of going "Oh Snap! That's crazy for shizzle, I can't believe it... I still need gas. oh well..." and just grin and bare it. Eventually the Oil Companies say "ok, we'll lower them" however instead of going back down to where they were, They drop it down .05-.10. They realize that they can charge what they want, and people will still buy it... so why decrease the profit margin? why not increase it? I think that gas is going to hit $5 very soon... I'm going to have to ride my bike to work from now on... (apx 30miles)

Do NOT get an Ipod... Bought one for my sister with the 1yr extended waranty... The thing won't keep a charge at all. Came to find out that there was a Civil Action Lawsuit against Apple because of this "flaw" and I should take it in to get the battery *replaced* To make a long story short, The warranty means nothing... If the battery is bad, then it will cost 59.99 to replace (processing fee). But I had the warranty right? wrong... I do have the warranty however according to Apple "It is not a fautly battery, or a design flaw... it's a rechargeable battery, so it's not covered." I brought up the civil action lawsuit... "We are allowed to take the Ipod and run a test on the battery (2-4 business days) and if it is bad it will cost 29.99 to replace." But I had the warranty, what the heck does that cover? "If this occured in the first 6 months of the warranty, then it wouldn't cost anything, however since it is in the last 6 months of it, it will cost 29.99 to replace." Convieniently it is exactly 13 days into the 7th month... I asked if I go along with it, if they would replace the battery here or would it have to be sent out... they replied "We just give you a new one out of the box" So it is a design flaw, however they just like to push it on you and make it your fault. On top of which, I had to sit through and watch the Apple support personell belittle and make a 14 yr old girl cry, because they were making her feel stupid. She was having the same issue that I was... I let them have an ear full, asked to speak to the manager, and then was escorted out of the store. So yeah, I'm not a fan of Ipod any more.. Good luck

I find it hard to believe that there is not a single person in these forums that could help me. Especially the Admins, and MOd's... Who maintains the servers here? anyone?? help please?

Ok, I'm running my own server nothing special just for fun stuff and currently running Mani admin Mod as well as Zombie Horde mod. At first I was just running Mani with out any issues, later I installed ZHmod and found my server crashing regularly about every 2-3 hrs (typical "an error occured: memory cannot be read at "0x00000040" etc.). being that it's still a beta *technically* and there's a disclaimer mentioning the bug, I didn't pay too much attention, also, it restarted without an issue. Well... a couple of nights ago, it crashed hard, and when I tried to relaunch Dedicated server the "memory cannot be read" error kept poping up. Uninstalled DS, Reinstalled DS... after much *testing* adding files and etc trying to make it crash I have found that on thier own Mani is solid, zh will crash after about 4-5 hrs. If I run them both, DS will launch, then crash right away. If I elimiate the ZHmod.dll's in the add on folder the crashing goes away, but so does zhmod. I don't want to run a server without admin controls, and I don't really want to get rid of ZHmod because it's too darn fun... Any sugestions? Admins/ Mods, what admin utilities or configurations do you use for GC's servers to run ZHmod? Any help is appreciated. Thx.

Hate to be a pain.. But I was wondering if anyone would be interested in testing out a server a friend and just got up and fully functional, we just finished installing Mani-mod, and editing all the config files, however it's difficult to test options like votemap, rank, death stats, etc, by yourself.. : (I tend to be the sole tester after editing things) Reliant : Miranda Class- 69.221.180.210:27015 I have to work tonight untill about 20:00 hrs- 8:00pm (CST) so I won't be on untill about 21:00-9:00pm (CST) or so, But the server will be up and running if anyone wants to pop in, 16 max players for now (untill we know how stable it is) So pack it if you can and push it to it's limits. Both my friend and I are supportive of this community, and have been involved since before the Coalition was founded (Mmmm forever ) Needless to say, we turn to our community once again for creative criticizim. I was actually thinking about that when I found this... It's sad to see that a voodoo2 can handle it with decent framerates, however my 9200se almost throwsup at 640X480 with maxed out low settings.

Fatty never finished HL? wowwie... I understand though... most of the games I've played I've never finished. There's only a few that I actually did. The HL series (hl, op4, bs, hl2) Eternal darkness... um... I think that's about it. I'm more of a community guy as well, I almost cried when trop was taken down... However, with HL2 I only played for a couple hours (at most) at a time. I have 2 jobs, I also have a wife and a 1yr old who always want to spend time. Not that I think that is a burden or anything... But I would find time once I got the nipper down, and my wife did her "live journal thing" I was able to squeeze in about 30min or so. I still 1.6 (from at work:) ) as well as source now, at the same time as playing through HL2 again on hard. Another thing that has drawn me to hl2 again is something that was started at HL Fallout. Someone asked a question and a contest of photography (using screenshots) of what it would have been like if Gordon had a camera along on his journey. I have some up right now, and still have last night's shoot to upload. warning... some spoilers... Casper's HL2 Photography as far as the coop stuff, I believe that the same person who did the coop for hL is doing it again for HL2... Sven coop I think... not sure. In anycase. Hope you make it though, it is deffinately worth it. see you in source!

Hey all... I've been having this issue since Steam released HL2DM & SDK. But It's an error that you click on hl2 to launch, the "preparing hl2" window pops up then nothing happens. While doing some research on this, I came accross this post on the steam Forums and found it informative. Steam HL/CS no start error If possible would a moderator be able to sticky this so that people who bought retail won't be freaking out as much... Thanks.

some minor spoilers for those of you who haven't finished yet. I finished yesterday, and I feel empty... I think the way that valve just stoped everything at the end was extremely abrupt, and kinda made me upset. I am not in any aspect saying that the ending stunk, or that I didn't like the game! I thought it was the best game I've played to date. It was just the fact of how intense everything was to that point, then everything was gone... I mostly feel sad that I finished the game... I wanted the story to go on. (kinda the same feeling I got from Empire strikes back, the first version, you know the good one.) I started thinking about what happens to alyx.. judging from what the explosion started off as, I'm pretty sure that she'll be dead, or will die. I don't want to have to wait close to the same amount of time for HL3, however, I feel somewhat conforted by the possibility of expansions. (I mean common... they left alot of room for more story.) There's also a single player mod comming out called the 7 hr war. I don't remember the details but that's exciting... On a sad note. After I have beaten it, I received notice from steam that death match and the full sdk was available... so I decided to go for it. Upon Steam updating, I tried to launch and nothing happens. The "preparing to play HL2" steam window pops up, the cd spins up and the hard drive cranks for a couple of seconds, but then nothing. It happens for hL2, cs:s, death match.... everything... I uninstalled everything last night and restarted installing before I went to bed. Anyone else have this issue? any sugestions? fyi, system: p4 3.2ghz ht 800mhz fsb abit board ati 9200 se Omega drivers samsung dvd-rw 512mb ddr ram

Hey all, Ncc and I have brought back Mantis (69.84.33.222:27015). We have been trying to install AMX / Metamod and have no sucess. I have followed the instructions from www.amxmod.net and still can't get the mods running. The biggest issue we are having is that we haven't set up a server since WON, so Steam's gettin picky. If we go to the "launch properties" and add the "-dll /addons/metamod/dlls/metamod.dll" within that field, the server won't even launch. I have added the similar line to the "liblist.gam" file (as instructed) and it seems that no matter what combo, I try, I can't get it to run. If I have the lines added to the .gam file, or the launch properties, then the server won't launch. Any help on this matter would certianly be appreciated.

I think Ncc might have posted this last night... but Mantis is back up... all be it a shell of what it once was... Still have a lot of work to do on it, but it's up and currently running 1.6, and some Old maps. fun times though... 69.84.33.222:27015

I miss Trop 1.6. It was basically an exclusive server for me, I even directed all my freinds there because of the comunity... I know it's not comming back because of source, and that's sad.. so I'm just going to deal with it I guess... did I mention it was sad?

There is alot of wisdom that has been mentioned already, and I think that it would be a little pointless for me to repeat, so... Just remember that in a marrige there is there is "Me time" and "We time" and both are equally as important. So you and your new wife have to make that time. I know how ya feel man, and I'm not going to get into my situation, but you are in a much better position to change that, than myself. I made the mistake of giving up too much too early in the game.
