Granted, Ante gets wiped/reloaded this Thursday but I figured the box (Ante) would be up in the meantime. Which is to say that it is down, has been for a day or two. Certainly TS and since I can't log into Ante I assume the box as well. If it can't be brought up on Ante, any chance of whoever is the owner/lord/master/god of the entity known as "Mantis" booting TS back up on that? Have a match on Tuesday and again on Thursday. -Fk

Ya know, I'm willing to bet a large number of us that skew to the older demographic are more than a little familiar with salty language. In fact, I dare say my daily conversation is riddled with it - I use it amongst my friends, I use it in online IM'ing, and I even use when I'm teaching. Why not here? The way I explain it on the UT servers is like this - it's the Community Orientated Policing / broken windows philosophy. See a broke window, don't wait for the break-ins, car thefts, and other crimes to appear - close it down now - fewer problems all around. Same thing with in-game names and no swearing. Questionable names lead to irrelevant in-game chats and name calling. Hey look, someone who is 14 years old and has learned some new words. Great - just what I want to see spammed every 2 minutes... By locking most of it down, none of these problems ever come up. Play is much better, no worries all around. A bit up-tight for my age demographic? Definately, but I'll take it knowing I always have a place to play without some (johnson-related brain container) TKing, goofing off, or generally being a complete nuisence. I chose to hook up with GC simply because of that - good play, solid servers. Do the in-game language filters catch me on occasion, oh h yeah - and I laugh - but I'll take it anyday for the good play. -Fk PS: Hey, I just evaded the language filters on purpose - someone should warn me!

Very true - Hopefully chip can get M3 up solidly this weekend - I'm keeping tabs on Mobo II faults - severe lag at times (esp at the 18 player mark and up) - random map locks (at start or mid game - just locks up client side while the server decides to flip over to the next map in the cycle) - 2 map locks just this past hour - really does drive folks away... As far as Chip said to me, I believe that there isn't anything on M2 thats critical - even the ban list, if lost, can be re-populated (as it were...lol) so a reinstall on that puppy (with the cpu at 50% or whatever as you mentioned in another thread) wouldn't be a bad idea at all. -Fk

Just an FYI that should be solvable, or at least needs to be brought up with the provider. Last week before the TWL match we lost, Demense was useless for practice. To be specific, our lag times appeared fine but we had severe lag problems during practice (Monday afternoon/eve). Bad enough to the point where we had multiple "lost connection" kick outs, "speed hack" messages, etc. No real prob as we played the match on the other team's server but as for getting any last minute practice in it was useless. We thought about kicking folks off of Cuffo unitl we realized none of us really knew how to do so (or thought it might not be too cool to do so) Over most of this last week, we did not practice (elections, work, etc.) so hard to say if the problem persisted during the week. Server seemed fine on Saturday for practice. This Sunday however (Nov 7th), it was back to useless again. We slogged through the 3 hour practice, but real bad lag problems at time (though our pings looked good), multiple "lost connection" kicks, etc. Any chance someone one here can give a yell to the server hosts to see whats up? Our pings seem fine but that server isn't the happiest of campers lately. Sorry if this blither is too off-topic but this is twice in the course of a week Give chipper, penty, wentz, etc. a yell - they'll tell ya the same thing. Great server - though maybe a few new ONS maps from the Community Bonus Paks wouldn't be a bad idea (and no more Primeval - which should really be called "meat grinder" - or at least limit it to just one go through - I think I played a match on the old mobo server where it got to be so painful that we all agreed to just have one side give up to cycle the map...) So, yeah, not a GC member but have been hanging on these servers for at least a month now - mobo first and now Mobo II. No mic so the harsh language can't be it... Majority of my text posts in-game are gg or wow. Just before 10pm, Friday, Sept. 10th (Indiana time whatever that is these days - central or eastern) Flitterkill Onslaught - Dawn MoboII server. Now, if this was a kick to make room for GC members that's cool but it just kicked me mid-game and said "permanent" ban. email to pester is hyperactiveChipmunk@ Well, at least it made me register on these forums if anything else... I should be playing World of Warcraft anyways seeing as I got in on that stress beta which ends on Sunday. Still, playing nicely and getting banned is annoying... Anyone?
