If your up for a new system build anyways, i would say yes, go for PCIe, but if you just need a vid card I would stick with AGP instead of buying a new mobo (in case you didnt know, PCIe will not work in regular PCI slot). As for faster, yes, but they say that there arent any games out yet that need that kind of bandwidth. The basic difference is like all the info traveling on a small road compared to an 8 lane highway, and PCIe is bidirectional, can go both ways at once.

I dont know what kind of board you have, but it sounds like the clock multiplier is set wrong, if you go into your BIOS, it should have a setting to auto-detect your cpu,if it still shows that way, go to intel's web site to find multiplier settings and make sure they are correct, if they are, or it wont accept the proper settings, you may have gotten ripped on a re-marked cpu. Intel should also be able to verify what cpu you have by the serial #'s if you email them. Unfortunatley, cpu fraud is big business.

Other than shut the server down during those times or recruit admins to cover those times, there seems to be nothing that can be done. At least until more tools are available to automate certain aspects of administrating. The first thing to do would be to monitor more closely to determine if there is a real problem, or was this one guy who had a problem one time? I play random hours here and there and for the most part I dont see a need to worry about it much, especially if regulars start to help more with "polite" warnings. Thats just my 2 cents, take it for what its worth.

Plus you gotta cut 'em a little slack, they are just trying to play and enjoy the game as everyone else is, they are not full time baby sitters, thats why if you see something and an admin is still alive playing and your not, politely ask them to observe the rules, they cant catch everything if the game is intense like it usually is. But if they are dead observing and do nothing, then there is a problem, but i rarely see that. They do a very good job in my opinion.

Is it safe to then say that our current x800 series can safely be overclocked to match the x850? I doubt that they tooled up to make a completely new product this soon, it's most likely based on current stuff no? I have X800 XT Platinum If it is safe, any info you have on doing it would be appreciated, I prefer first hand knowledge over articles, it feels safer to do when you know someone who has had success. I have a Sony in mine as well, the software continued to work but was limited in functions, which is where they try to get you to purchase an upgrade. Should stay working in its current capacity.

I'd go Neo all the way, thats what I use, I especially like the MSI live update stuff, SUPER easy to update bios and mobo drivers. The surround sound on this board sounds better than my Audigy, so it's in a box on the shelf. All info in the magazines seem to favor MSI as well. Thats my 2 cents, hopefully its worth more than my cs skill.

The direction this thread is going kinda proves my point and my concern, team play, and making the game fair and fun is quickly taking a back seat to stat "hoeing" as it was previously called. The team stacking is continuing for the most part, and now that there are stats involved, no one is willing to move to even it up as they would have a few days ago because they dont want to drop in the standings. I gotta say, it hasnt been the same fun experience it was just a few days ago, could make a guy lose interest quickly. Heck, i'm down to 443rd now, pretty soon i'll have to take the GC tag off in fear of embarrassing the community, but again, i'm not joining the strongest team just to get stats.

Thats more like it, 20th to 304th in 1 day. Of course last night I died more than ever I think,It was so bad I had to quit, teams were stacked unbelievably, tkrs not gettin kicked, it was 12-0 before we even scraped out a win, 16-2 when I left. By time it was 6-0, all the t's were loaded with awps and we had mp5 and pistols,not much fun. I know we are not playin for stats (good thing for me), but this kinda thing is what throws a wrench in the machine. I think 9 outta 12 t's had double digit kills, while our team had 1 person, the rest had no plan, just scattered and died. The bad part is that there were people who coulda helped this but did not, worst night playin so far. And I for one REFUSE to switch to the good team to keep my #'s up. (sorry that my ranting strayed off course a bit.)

Agreed, the Antec looks good too,although, I think the Xconnect has them beat on cables, the Antec is modular, but the cables look pretty standard (blah). The cables on the other one are round and come in colors. Antec does have the advantage as far as proven reliability. If I had to choose and wanted something that looked good, i'd experiment with the Xconnect, but if I wasnt after looks for case modding or something, I'd choose old faithful.

I agree with Zerodamage on weight, very tell tale sign. I havent tried one yet,but i'm interested in the new Xconnect by Ultra Computer Products, its really cool lookin, but the coolest feature is that it comes with separate plugs, so no more empty harnesses uglying up your case and messing with airflow, just use the cables you need. Sounds cool

Now that HL2 is out, is there a chance that the new maps could be coming soon? That would be cool. Why dont we ever play the map, i think its havana maybe,its the other hostage map with the street entrance in the back?

Does anyone play this game? I dont like many Star Wars games but a friend turn me on to this a while back and its a blast. Multiplayer would be cool, runnin around slicing each other up.
