OOOOHhhhhhh I was so jacked to install BF and try this one tonight.....but wait, my buddy bean went to Florida....and oh no....he took a few things of mine with him.... Actually, tonight would have been a bad night for me to spend hours on the PC, so it works out....however, if I have a snow day tomorrow..... At any rate, I'll have this installed SOON...so if one of you BFers could show me the best place to update my default BF and then find this Interstate mod, I'd appreciate it!

battlefield has always lagged for me that why i enver really played it. but i downloaded desert combat and wanted to give bf another try for me. i still get the same lag most of the time in areas without a lot of combat i get good lag but every once in a while i just lag and cant even move. and it gets worse in areas with a lot of activity. sometimes i cant move for a minute or 2 this makes no sense because my ping was at 22 any ideas would be greatly appericated thanks, Sempa

I dunno if this has been posted or if some of you know of this already, but go to your bf1942 folder/mods/bf1942/settings go to VideoDefault.con file and open with wordpad. Find renderer.AllowAllRefreshRates 0, and change the 0 to a 1. Save and exit. Now when you start up desert combat or any bf1942 mod, when you go to options-video, it will show your available resolutions as well as the different refresh rates. This will help your fps stability in game. Also, go download (if you haven't already) the drivers for your specific monitor. Normally the monitors are just run on windows default plug in and play drivers. Downloading the drivers to your specific monitor helps out quite a bit.

I just bought and built a new computer. Its a 2 Gig AMD and 512K PC3200. I am running off my old video card and its a GeIV 4400? Its a 128MB card. I know it is a little bit older, but my DC is running soooooo choppy that I cant even play one player!! When I try to fly the choppers it is like 7 fps or something. I know that I dont have my computer set up very well. I dont even know what to do. Honestly, I am getting so sick of having a crappy working comp and having to screw with it constantly that I am considering giving up gaming alltogether. I have alot that I am trying to do with my life right now anyway. So, long question short, why is my DC running at 8 fps?

I've looked a bit on the net for the answer, but haven't exhausted all resources, but I'll add this here anyway. Since 1.45, and maybe 1.4x I've been having an issued with DC, BF1942, and the Secret Weapons Demo where I connect to a server and randomly I get an error connection message every 2-15 minutes or so. It's not related to being heavy in battle. It's like I'm getting massive packet loss for 5-10 seconds and if I hit about 10 seconds I'll disconnect from the server. I can 'coax' it to 'reconnect' with a slightly better chance if I hit the enter key and bring up the selection screen. But this doesn't work more than 60% of the time. I've check a little on the support sites and there is an issue where clients crash to desktop, but that's not my issue. Any ideas?
