hey guys, not trying to take away from anything gc, but i noticed that these servers are mutha frickin popular for the moment, so i wanted to let anyone know that IF the GC deathmatch server at 66.150.107.96:27015 is full, then anyone is welcome to check out the VI servers at vi4life.com:27017, :27018, and :27019. each of these is running both the original maps, plus a custom one named crosffire. i think it's a remake of an old one, but im not sure. p.s. hey fatty, if this tinklees you off, just let me know i will take it off, just wanting to share the load. also, fatty, if you want a custom map i have crossfire which is the only one that worked, you can get it here

i'm going to start work on some HL2 DM maps, post up some ideas, i should be able to import more logo's and stuff with source and prolly get the GC logo in the maps with little trouble PS. Some of these maps are going toward the map contest!!!!! (hehe gotta put my skills to use and be known!) This was in the other forum plz delete the one in chit chat, didn't know this forum was here...

dm_overwatch is horrible with lag and pings....compared to same server, same people, playing lockdown. We're locked on lockdown for now. 30 minutes or 150 fraglimit, whichever comes first.

Whenever I look down at the ground the in game audio becomes very distorted (crackly), and when I look back up or straight forward the distortion goes away. This also happens to me when I play cs: source. So if anyone could help me get rid of the distortion that would be great! Thanks, Rashad

I stole the actual screenshot from some guy that took it with the highest settings possible. I just added the lettering. I think it came out kinda good. Anyone else have some backgrounds they wanna show?

So we all remeber the G-man popping up all through HL. And he did it again in HL2 but he's a little harder to spot some times. So post up pics of your g-man sighting and lets see how many we can find. Please keep the pic size low. (about 640x480) and no need to post up pics twice....For thouse of you who can't host them there is a free website that extreemly easy to use that I've been using for some time now. http://www.walagata.com/ give a short summery of where the pic as taken. Fist stop on underground RR. The Vor...whatever they are called is powering the TV for a few secs before he turns to talk to you...It's my fav show

Ive sat here almost every night with my finger on the mouse ready to hit the purchase button on Steam for HL2, then right befor i do my wife says "I got something for Corinne today for xmas, one less thing" and my finger moves off the mouse button.. Having to tell my wife, hey i just spent 55 bucks on a game and then i hear "dont you have games you havent beaten yet?".. If i buy it, it will be a few days befor it shows up on the bank and in that time ill be telling myself "you better tell her".. Sure we are a single income family with 3 kids but if daddy wants a new game to make him happy then so be it.. But then i think xmas is right around the corner and the wife's bday is on 12-9.. Ohhh the agony!!!!!!!

Anyone have any ultra cool screenshots you grabbed while playing through? I played through the beggining 2-3 times again, just to get some cool background screenshots. I got an email from ATI saying i still can download hl2 even though i ordered it on cd. How long does it take download? Is it an all night while you sleep thing?

Dunno how far everyone is, and I don't want to give anything away even if people want parts to be spoiled. But when you go to rescue your ole pal, I love how at some points there are parts that will kill you if you go the wrong place or stand around just a bit too long. That was cool, but scared the crap out of me. Also, anyone read George Orwell's "1984"? I have not read it, but my girlfriend watched the first 5-10 minutes of the game and said, "Whoa, this is just like that book 1984!" Here's a link to amazon. Read the description of the book. It is very creepy similar to the storyline.

I am at chapter 14 Dark Energy and am at top of the platform with the 2 flying gunner ships and the big sphere in the middle. I take out the gunner ships and the girl yells hurry hes gettin away. I need to shut down the portal in the middle. I through them balls at the flapers and they go up but fall back down. How you shut down the teleporter? -
Xbitlabs who i think is the best tech site out there right now has up some nice charts showing performance between ATI and Nvidia's cards for HL2. I am starting this thing on Page 4 so none of the screenshots on the first 3 pages do not spoil anything. The charts say it all though. http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/video/dis...alf-life_4.html The charts pretty much follow this trend except for the CPU limited tests and the ATI cards are still on top but by a small margine. Also, the Nvidia cards have some graphical issues. So Bean.... glad i recommended that X800 card a few months back? lol

Don't get me wrong I like having a possie with me. Esp when they give me health and ammo. Thats great. But if one of thouse freaken little peeons tells me to reload my gun one more time I'm gonna go apenuts on them. Oh I am the mighty Free Man you'll all bow down and worship me...and tell me to reload my gun evey 5 seconds. I'VE BEEN DOING THIS LONGER THAN YOU I'LL RELOAD WHEN I'M GOOD AND READY SO tinkle OFF. On a side note I love this game and just incase anyone doesn't ever read these I'll post it up
