  1. I just watched this and i give it a 9/10 I love night shyamalan and i have to say that he did a REALLY good job on this one.

  3. I saw no one had posted this yet. This movie made me laugh from start to almost-finish (the ending left me going wth). It is VERY crude - just a warning to those who may not like lots of swearing and sexual innuendos. It is quite funny though in its own crude way and well worth the price of admission if you like a good crude comedy. We gave it a 90/100.
  4. 2.5/4 Stars. VERY funny movie. It's stupid, but the laughs make it worth seeing. It is much better then the 3rd. The part of the movie that makes fun of Million Dollar Baby was so funny, I was in tears.
  5. I'm going to see X-Men III, and M:i:III..def.
  6. Let me begin this rant by saying that I can be super cheap. But, I have to be. I am 20, married, welcoming a son to the world soon, and buying a house. I forgot to mention that I don't like nibbling.... I apparently like to bite off just about as much as I can chew. I recently received a promotion at work, and switched back to night shift (7 pm - 4:30 a.m. for you lucky 9-5ers). So my income is pretty good at this point. Things are tight. But at the end of the month, we end up ahead, somehow. Now the point of this rant, for whoever reads this far, is about the cost of entertainment. Not the "stick a $20 in the nice ladies undergarments" entertainment, but good old family entertainment. 5 adults went to the movie the other night (one of us was only 14, but didn't have a student ID on them). Tickets to movie = $8.50 X 5 = $42.50 1 Medium soda, 2 Large sodas, and a Large popcorn = ~$22.50 For those non-math types, that brings a grand total of about $65 for 2 hours worth of entertainment. Luckily, everyone was fairily entertained with the movie. For that price, you can't afford to make the mistake of choosing a bad movie. Movie rentals are slightly better. But by the time a movie is available to rent, everyone and their grandmother has told you about every funny/cool/scary moment. The sad thing is, this does not only apply to movies. Any experienced parents on a budget have some insight into affordable entertainment? Luckily, St. Louis has a lot of free places to go such as their zoo, science center, art museum. Without those, I think my parents would have gone broke!
  7. Well we went to see this last night. After Jackson's previous works I was excited to see how this would turn out. I was incredibly disappointed. The movie is 3 HOURS long. It could easily have been 1.5 hours and still been a bad movie though. Three hours just makes double-sure it is a bad movie. There are numerous "blue screen" shots that just look incredibly fake. It is apparent they tried to make it look good, but failed miserably. The acting is good for the most part, the story-line is already known from the original but they decided to increase it a bit this time and make sure you know about the love triangle. The worst thing is that there was nothing to make you want to be "involved" in the movie. It was SO incredibly slow and such a painful grind. I actually grabbed my coat and wanted to leave but my buddy wanted to finish it, he though it would improve - he was wrong. The theatre we visited had about 120 people - throughout the movie I watched 8-10 people get up and leave....I wish I had been one of them. I just checked some review pages and this movie is getting an A from critics on average. I just am not sure why. Bad special effects through parts - incredibly slow - parts completely unrealistic - on and on I can go. We gave it a 50/100.
  8. Just curious what people’s fav movies from 2005 were? On the whole not a great year especially if you’re an action fan but my top 5 were... 1) Batman Begins - Great cast, a dark Batman, exactly what Batman should be. 2) Wedding Crashers - My fiancée dragged me to this, I thought it'd be a rental, wow was I wrong, funniest movie of 2005. 3) Crash - great storyline and awesome cast. 4) King Kong - I just thought it was a great popcorn movie, great visuals and good acting (except Jack Black who almost ruins it for me). 5) Sin City - People either love it or hate it, I love Frank Miller and this movie captures his dark comic book style. ...And most disappointing, for me...Star Wars Episode III .... I wanted more Vader and less Anakin. I still can't believe Vader only really shows up in the last scene, so disappointing. Trust me I wanted to like it, I really did but I just can't! Cheers, Klink
  9. so excited to see this movie tonight will bring reviews

    Lucky Number Sleven.

Great movie. Lots of violence and a great story. Bruce Willish is awesome as usual as is Morgan Freeman. One of the best movies and stories I have seen since Narnia. (but totally different type of story)
  11. I just watched inside man I give it about a 7.5-8 out of 10 There are a couple camera angles that annoyed me. But overall the movie was a good thriller that had me puzzled until the end. Even though the movie does not answer one of my questions, and for some *caugh~ephemeral~caugh* the movie is hard to follow. I didnt have a problem with it though. Overall the movie could have been improved in a couple areas. But I was in awe of how they did some of the timeline sequencing. (the interrogation of the people) What do you think?
  12. I watched the first half and thought....wow I actually think its a descent horror sequel. Not the norm certainly. I'll post tomorrow when I finish it. Aug
  13. im surprised no one here posted about this moive. i did a quick search and didnt find anything. so, i was reading a bunch of other forums discussing the movie, both in an itelligent and mature way AND the nooby way. so i thought to myself, i wonder what the people at gc think about it. and lo and behold...nothing? anyway. this movie was amazing. cinematography was breath-taking. acting was incredible. story was awesome. such a powerful movie about two people in love, when society tells them not to be, and how they both deal with it, in their own ways. it was such a strange experience wanting them to get together, but at the same time feeling uncomfortable when they did. i think heath ledger did a great job just capturing that low-key southern drawl without overdoing it, like so many other actors do. the female supproting cast was first rate. overall this is one of the best movies this year (capote being the other). so id like to hear some other opinions. and plz lets try to keep it civil.
  14. bout multiplayer games gone thriller.... anyone see it yet?

    Doom

trailer can be found here : http://media.filmforce.ign.com/media/490/490104/vids_1.html
  16. Yeah Silent Hill is how I like my horror. Twisted and somewhat disturbing. I dunno bout you guys but I enjoyed all the Silent Hill games. And yeah pretty happy at the moment knowing its out soon. From the trailer it looks like its based on the 1st with some lady replacing Harry but it keeps the 'world' music soundtrack and sirens. Nice! IMDB knows Silent Hill
  17. http://www.oscars.org/78academyawards/noms.html Nominations for best motion picture of the year: “Brokeback Mountain (Focus Features) “Capote (UA/Sony Pictures Classics) “Crash (Lions Gate) “Good Night, and Good Luck. (Warner Independent Pictures) “Munich (Universal and DreamWorks)
  18. I actually like the new version quite a bit and make a point of watching it. I loved the original as a kid and knowticed that this new version is a lot grittier. The special effects are great especially for the sciFi channell. Eddie Almos is great as Adama. The addition of the second battlestar I think is great as in the original it was destroyed fighting a basestar. I also noticed that a lot of these people dont get along. Guess thatll happen in their situation. What ya'll think?
  19. Story of a hometown kid trying to become an officer in the Navy. If you haven't seen it. Go pay whatever it costs to see it. Very good movie - granted the story is essentially what I WANTED to do with my life. GG heart murmur...GG... 10/10 100% 4/4 stars 2 thumbs up! So far this is the best movie this year - and I have seen everything that is in the theater right now.

    Final Destination 3

Final Destination 3 A high school senior has a premonition of a fatal roller coaster accident involving herself and her friends. When the premonition proves true, those who have "cheated death" are to deal with the repercussions of escaping their fate. I wonder how many parts they're going to make!
  21. http://www.cinema8.qc.ca/affiche/index.asp Alot of interesting films comming out.
  22. A new series about Blade from the SciFi channel and Spike tv. http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/index.php?category=1&id=34430
  23. 3/4 Stars I felt it was better then the original because of all the backstory. Its worth waiting for rental.
  24. Went to see this on Saturday with the lady wife, great movie not at all what I was expecting. Greg Kinnear and Pierce Brosnan work excellently together (anyone who has seen the Taylor of Panama will have an idea of the kind of role Brosnan was playing). Would thoroughly recommend it as a change of pace from the usual Hollywood rubbish. It does have a lot of cursing and some rather "adult" moments so not for some of our youngest readers and there are some genuinely hilarious moments. 4/5 Brosnan: Come on! It'll be a good time! Kinnear: Oh, so now killing people is a good time? Brosnan: Can be.
