I have an empty folder.

I delete the said folder, and all is happy.

I start my PC up the next day, and the folder is back..

Any idea why/how this is happening? I've ran adaware/norton/spybot S&D and found nothing.. and it's really werid :twitch:

What's the name of the folder?

Try running "command.com" from your "Run" line (opens a true Dos box not the cmd Dos emulator), browse to the folder that contains the folder you want to delete, the try using the "rd /s <foldername>" command to remove it (the "/s" switch tells Dos to delete any files or subfolders in the folder specified).

Hm, thanks for the help but neither of those suggestions worked.. I'm having a feel it's related to a virus I have..

Looks like it's going to be time to format!

Spyware. Download, update and run Adawre, then do the same with Spybot Search and Destroy and then defend yourself with Spyware Blaster.

did it all if you read ... none of it worked

In a hurry... do a search on google for "Hijack This" and run that, post your results here. Ask Gunny if you have questions about it. Will be back on later.

I found 8 things:

kazaa (I only have lite.. thought lite was okay.. ?)

BonziBuddy

SearchIt

SearchIt

Download Accelerator

CnsMin

CnsMin

Hotbar

Kazaa is the only program there I installed that I know of..

I don't have 30$ to pay for registration either =x.

There you go. Remove all of them. Then instead of using Kazaa in anyway shape or form, use E-donkey. It is much better.

Shareaza uses the E-Donkey and E-Doinkey, E-Donkey2000, Gnutella, and Gnutella2 networks. It's my choice when not running any games as it uses about 30% CPU but starts downloading immediately, I use WinMX when the PC is unattended for a day or longer as it uses a queue system by cross-downloads and I've had really good luck with it.

Where exactly would I remove them from? Checked a few and they weren't under "Add/remove".. so .. ? Did a few searchs on my PC and came up with blanks also.

There is a forum at www.spywareinfo.com where people look at your log and tell you what to do. IT can get quite detailed. I say that you should make sure you have the latest 1.3 version of Spybot. And the latest updates. The 1.2 version doens't detect quite as well.

Spybot should remove all of those things you listed.

Oh, try running adaware and spybot in safemode, that may do the trick. Just make sure they are the latest and greatest versions.

Gunny used it and was able to remove a spyware that the other programs could not. If you want, post what it finds in here and I will take a look at it.

Any specific reason why my logs folder would be empty after having run the program numerous times?
