Guest zerodamage August 5, 2004 Share Guest zerodamage Guests August 5, 2004 Some of these are quite graphic and may spoil the game for you. Nasty. Can you say ouch? One of those times that you dread. There are no less than 3 zombies coming after me here and you can not use your light at the same time. These are the freaky parts of the game. The first part of the game that really made my skin crawl. You have to play it to appreciate it. RUN!!!!!!!! New face lifts do not look promising. Fatty August 5, 2004 Share Fatty GC Founder August 5, 2004 lol 2 of those pics are similar to what I did in another thread! You following me?!?!?! AK that pic above is amazing. Pics like that are gonna force me to buy a new video card...
Guest zerodamage August 5, 2004 Share Guest zerodamage Guests August 5, 2004 I do not think it is so much the video card there than it is the actual level he is at. AK, what resolution are you playing at and what settings? AA and AF? It may be the JPG files I am using but your shots look 10 times better than mine. Guest zerodamage August 5, 2004 Share Guest zerodamage Guests August 5, 2004 I really do not know Fatty. Mine look kind of flat compared to his. Then again, I am making my shots smaller. Let me try it in 1280 x 1024 real quick to see how it plays for me and how it looks.
Guest zerodamage August 5, 2004 Share Guest zerodamage Guests August 5, 2004 Ok, just did 1280 x 1024 without any frame rate problems at all. Usually still hitting 60 fps (which Doom3 is supposed to be locked at internally). You want tripple buffering enabled in the control panel. The game looks much nicer at this resolution. Take a look at these shots. Now this one shows 15 fps because I just got hit and I guess it does that. I didn't notice it and I think it only happened for a quick millisecond. Notice the other shot. All Kill3r August 5, 2004 Share All Kill3r Member August 5, 2004 75refresh dual 21 inch CRT's. if only i could play games over both screens... that would be cool. p.s. i only paid $100 for the monitors, 50 each...
Birdman August 5, 2004 Share Birdman Member August 5, 2004 p.s. i only paid $100 for the monitors, 50 each... Nice. I'd show u a picture of a d00d on the hardforums that had doom 3 running on dual 20" lcd's but i can't find it. Looked coo though. Matrox needs not be dumb and make a good card that could play Doom 3 over 3 monitors like they did for Quake 3. I'd say Nvidia could do a 3 monitor setup with their new dual card SLI setup if they wanted to. I wouldn't mind seeing that.
Birdman August 5, 2004 Share Birdman Member August 5, 2004 Here are some cool Pics I found in another forum. If you compare the characters from Doom1(not these pics necessarily)with those in Doom 3 is awesome to see how they redid the old ones. Doom Collector's Edition w/ JDoom and JDoom Model Pack! 1280 x 768 4XAA, 8XAF Nice to see how far the new Doom has come since the first Doom. Guest zerodamage August 5, 2004 Share Guest zerodamage Guests August 5, 2004 AK, that's what it is then. You're using AA which makes it look a lot nicer. Not sure of your system specs. I am thinking you are using the 6800 Ultra to be playing at that resolution and those settings and still be able to play. I may try the game at my current resolution of 1280 x 1024 and turn on temporal AA and see how that looks when I get home today.

Nah i think it's a x800pro. Which is what u have i believe . Mine is a pro with all 16- pipes and it is OC a little to 500 core and 500 (effective 1000 mhz) RAM. Not sure how he is running that high unless he has it water cooled to death and is running 2 Gig of RAM and etc. AND also has the 16-pipes enabled. I know the 6800 Ultra / GT can do that easy. All Kill3r August 5, 2004 Share All Kill3r Member August 5, 2004 12 pipes, unmoddable card. i got it when they were first released, before the VIVO discovery... i play with anywhere from 3ghz to 3.65ghz, 1:1 2-2-2 i know my bios, have performance options enabled. im not scared of volts. x800 is stock, hasn't seen an overclock in its lifetime. yet. ram depends on my mood. ive played with 512mb up to 1.5gigs on Doom3. the difference from 512 - gig - 1.5gig are noticable steps. I'm going to 2gigs shortly. all air cooled, lots of copper, lots of fans. got an ATI tool pic showing you 16 pipes without flashing bios ?

Guest zerodamage August 5, 2004 Share Guest zerodamage Guests August 5, 2004 (edited) got an ATI tool pic showing you 16 pipes without flashing bios ? I do not have a pic here at work but it is the same as yours above but with 16 pipes showing. The Gigabyte X800 Pro Vivo comes with all 16 enabled out of the box. I love it. I think your ability to run that high is your ability to tolerate a lower fps of like 30 or so and your faster cpu. On Anandtech's list, I am near the bottom of the list with my cpu. WIth a faster CPU I would be able to run 1600 x 1200. I am going to enable 2x AA tonight with Temporal and see how it looks. All Kill3r August 5, 2004 Share All Kill3r Member August 5, 2004 30FPS at these settings looks better and smoother hten 60fps in 1024x800. yea i wanna see that shot later. I haven't heard of them coming with 16pipe enabled out of the box like that. Neat. I will post it tonight. You could probably sell your x800 pro for around 400 and spend a bit for for that GIGABYTE x800 pro Vivo. Comes with 16 pipes and the HSF covers the GDD3 modules as well where the reference design doesn't. It is the best buy for the x800 pro out there. Birdman August 5, 2004 Share Birdman Member August 5, 2004 I am going to enable 2x AA tonight with Temporal and see how it looks. I don't think temporal works when u get FPS less than the Refresh rate of the monitor>? Or something like that. I'd have to look it up to be sure. I know u can't tell the difference in screenshots beacuse of the way it works.
