I always view my dog as part of the family, as I am sure you do as well. Losing your pet is a terrible thing to go through, yet in accepting ownership, there is the acceptance that there will eventually be a time of loss, and even a time when you have to help them go.

Just remember that is it ok to feel sad, even when people do not understand how you can become upset over an animal. It is difficult to lose your friend, even if that friend has fur and long nose.

I hope that you will follow the advice your vet gives you, even though such advice will make you part with your friend. Part of responisble ownership is understand what is best for one over yourself.

Cherish the moments you have had, give him a few more scratches behind the ear, and hope for the best.

Good luck.

Brian
