BATTERY

My battery fuse went dead and so I pulled out the fuse box and found a 70a fuse for the battery was blown.

I cant find the same type of fuse except in 60 or 80 amp

now correct me if I'm wrong but I believe one can use a smaller amperage fuse?

Is this true? Can I expect it to blow soon....

should I buy a spare?

You can actually go either route, but you are better off with the lower amperage.

If you put the 60 amp fuse in, you might blow the fuse more often and need to replace it. But if you put the 80 amp fuse, you have the possibility of damaging the battery or other electrical components. Your best bet is to try and find a 70 amp, or take it in to have it looked at. You might have a short in the system that will continue to blow the fuses.

Yea, Bean is Mad but he's right. Possibly the 80 amp fuse will cause the rest of your fuses to blow...or worse :=

If you have to use the 60 amp I'd limit the electrical appliances you run in the car. Unplug the Microwave, DVD and Hot Tub heater :twitch:

Seriously...using the radio & other "convience" items might pull to many amps where just running the car and the lights may make it.
