Ice_Berge_00 April 4, 2005 Share Ice_Berge_00 GC Alumni April 4, 2005 (edited) Make a backup of your registry before you fix them then have it fix them. Windows tends to leave registry entries just lying around from time to time. Especially when you delete programs. To backup your registry, if you've never done it do the following: 1) Go to Start-> Run and type "regedit" 2) Then go to File-> Export 3) Chose to backup all of your registry. You can save the file wherever you want. Edit: sp Edited April 5, 2005 by Ice_Berge_00

dwEEziL April 5, 2005 Share dwEEziL Member April 5, 2005 Auggy, I prefer to use RegClean for this. It's an MS created, non-supported tool (Like TweakUI or the other PowerToys) and it works great. It scans your registry for broken or corrupted hives, then when you tell it to fix them, it generates a .reg file (name based on the computer name, date and time file was created) with all the changes so you can roll back if necessary. I usually run it 2-3 until it finds no more errors.
