Make a backup of your registry before you fix them then have it fix them. Windows tends to leave registry entries just lying around from time to time. Especially when you delete programs.

To backup your registry, if you've never done it do the following:

1) Go to Start-> Run and type "regedit"

2) Then go to File-> Export

3) Chose to backup all of your registry. You can save the file wherever you want.

Auggy, I prefer to use RegClean for this. It's an MS created, non-supported tool (Like TweakUI or the other PowerToys) and it works great. It scans your registry for broken or corrupted hives, then when you tell it to fix them, it generates a .reg file (name based on the computer name, date and time file was created) with all the changes so you can roll back if necessary. I usually run it 2-3 until it finds no more errors.
