farmerisme September 7, 2006 Author Share farmerisme Member September 7, 2006 When I ping the router directly I get no packet loss, but anywhere past that point and it goes to heck. Pretty much anywhere I go goes out thru there.
Laz.e.rus September 8, 2006 Share Laz.e.rus Member September 8, 2006 I had a similar issue with an ATT router. I called Charter, gave them the IP, they said theyd look into it/ contact ATT. That one got fixed after a short time, but now I have a new random one that pops up occasionaly. ATT is teh bigger devil.
Goofus Maximus September 8, 2006 Share Goofus Maximus Member September 8, 2006 With Charter.net, it used to be that I could call up, and tell them my problem, and where it originated according to Hypertrace, but nowadays, phone support goes mostly to Bangalore, India, where people with incomprehensible accents don't understand what you're saying, and won't deviate from their "It's your modem" scripts. I had to have a service tech out here, just so I could talk to someone... Problem (far from here) got fixed in two days. Any company that uses phone tech support from India is brain-dead, since it's a good way to drive away customers.
