Put it in manually and it works:

logadress_add "ip:port"

decalfrequency 7130

decalfrequency 60

Yes really.

They must've fixed that "feature" of srcds where once you got the log it would just keep sending it until the server restarted.

Go into HLSW settings (Settings | Settings), click the Connections tab, and take note of what is in UDP Port. If you change it, you'll need to restart HLSW now so that it can be sure to get the port. (Mine says 912)

Now go put in the RCON password as usual. Click Test to make sure you put it in right, but don't click Get Log. Instead, go over to the Console tab. At this point, you can send any commands you want since you have the RCON password in. Get your own IP address. Type in this command:

logaddress_add "hostname:port" where hostname is your IP address, and port is the port number you have from the settings. Default port I think is 7130.

e.g.

logaddress_add "72.19.76.251:912"

If you want you can put this in in the morning so I'll have logs coming in automatically when I start looking at HLSW. Otherwise just use your own IP and port #.

My HLSW is actually working better than before now, it used to just drop log data coming in from anywhere except the server I had selected.

Still not getting anything after trying the above. Tho' it works fine with the westcoast DM server. I just hit "get logs" and it picks it right up.

I even upgraded to hlsw 1.1.4 to see if that would help. So, I'm thinking this is a server setting causing this.

they limited the RCON output in the last update. it works on deathmatch because deathmatch hasn't been updated, yet.

lunk, in the console tab (where you'd execute ma_commands), type:

logaddress_add 69.153.59.215:7130

that's your last known ip here. if it's changed, change the ip address above to your current ip.

maybe this will help.

guys the instructions you give do NOT work for me, so may not work for lunk either.

Heres what I have to do

1- Hit "get log" like you normally would. It wont work, but itll spit some numbers into your console.

2- The 2 numbers you need are with your ip. Heres what it spit for me today ( The XXs I did of course for this post). The esecondary port changes for me frequently.

11:53:10 log
11:53:10 Usage: log < on | off >
currently logging to: file, console, udp
---->11:53:10 logaddress_add "68.118.xxx.xx:7130"
11:53:10 decalfrequency 7130
11:53:10 logaddress_del "68.118.xxx.xx:7130"
---->11:53:10 logaddress_add "68.118.xxx.xx:17223"
11:53:10 decalfrequency 7131
11:53:10 logaddress_del "68.118.xxx.xx:17223"
11:53:10 decalfrequency 60
11:53:11 logaddress_add: 68.118.xxx.xx:7130 is already in the list
11:53:11 L 12/02/2006 - 11:53:00: "rcon server_cvar: "decalfrequency" "7130" " from "68.118.xxx.xx:8237"
11:53:11 logaddress_del: 68.118.xxx.xx:7130
11:53:11 logaddress_add: 68.118.xxx.xx:17223
11:53:11 L 12/02/2006 - 11:53:00: "rcon server_cvar: "decalfrequency" "7131" " from "68.118.xxx.xx:8237"
11:53:11 L 12/02/2006 - 11:53:00: "rcon server_cvar: "decalfrequency" "7131" " from "68.118.xxx.xx:8237"
11:53:11 logaddress_del: 68.118.xxx.xx:17223
11:53:11 L 12/02/2006 - 11:53:00: "rcon server_cvar: "decalfrequency" "60" " from "68.118.xxx.xx:8237"

All you need is those first two sets of numbers. Yesterday I had different ones, and it seems to change the port for me often.

3- So, in console I needed to type

logaddress_add 68.118.xxx.xx:7130

logaddress_add 68.118.xxx.xx:17223

and BANG, its spitting console out.

Next time it will be easier cuz those commands are saved in your console line. Just follow steps 1 and 2. Then hit the arrow next to your console to bring up your old commands. Send the 7130 one, then select it again, change the port to the new-next one, and send again.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Note and question . Console chat no longer shows for me in chat window, just console. Im wondering if entering that third port as well will help with that....experiment time ! :) I connect using those 2 ports, but it says its received commands from my port 8237..crazy.

Hmm tried it. Still cant see console chat in chat window. I now have 3 ports open to hlsw/immut. I might be wrong but it seems its updateing a little faster? around 700 and 1.9 Kbits up/down. Weird

you need to use two ports, not just 7130. And the secondary port changes each time you connect.

Yesterday I needed 7130 and 15975. Today I needed 7130 and 17223.

Without using both, nothing happens. And I cant find out what the 2nd is without using get-log first.

So, sorry, your answer is: It differs cuz your answer is 50% of my answer. Oh, and doesnt work... for some of us
