HWarrior October 8, 2007 Share HWarrior Member October 8, 2007 For those of us still rocking AMD setups... AMD Processor Pricing (newegg closely matches these) Gotta love the cpu market - I bought an x2 4000+ for $200 14 months ago and now its equivalent is only $68. mohawk October 8, 2007 Share mohawk Member October 8, 2007 hmm is the 4400+ to the 6000+ much of an upgrade? it would save me from buying a new mobo and might give me enough performance to run my SLI setup

THG CPU charts will give you some benchmarks on improvement. Note that on the 4400+, 2.6Ghz is easily attainable with good cooling. So comes down to is your time spent overclocking and tweaking worth more than the cost difference above. If you want to overclock, then the 5000+ black edition is unlocked and cheaper and should go to 3Ghz easy. Also keep in mind that AM2 Quads are later this year. Depending on your setup you may be able to pop in one of those with just a motherboard bios update.
