Build X a Computer

I also endorse ZD's cart. I will also give another endorsement to the P182 case. Fantastic case, oh-so-quiet and imo minimalist-sexy. Cable management was great, airflow was great. I highly recommend modular PSUs for it though to cut down on the clutter in the lower chamber. I had a P180 in silver for my beast that I sold a little over a year ago. Of all the things I miss from that computer, I miss the case the most. If/when I ever expand from my laptop and build another gaming computer, it will have that case.

Several items in that "cart" may be overkill for now, but it should definitely have some legs for you.

to me, overkill means i'll be able to have it longer before needing to upgrade it :D

wont i have to upgrade to 64 bit for XP to be able to get more than 4gigs of ram. I know 32 bit gives you 4Gigs at it's best with OC'n, I doubt i'll need more than that, our would 64 bit be the way to go and look towards a brighter (more like faster) future.

I have to disagree, as someone who has build close to 100 PCs I have to say the aluminum cases with the removable motherboard tray are the only way to go. Aluminum is lighter and is easier to cool. Also I don't really like those plane-Jane looking cases. I guess I still like all the lights and stuff so I need a big side window :). I currently have a micro ATX case made by Ultra called the Microfly. I modded mine out by putting 3 120mm fans on the windows but I have to say it has a perfect design for building a PC. You build the whole thing then slide the motherboard tray into it and install the power supply and you front connectors and bam it's done. Most folks don't do SLI or Crossfire anyway so micro atx only takes away the large amount of space taken up by a traditional case. I wanted one that could use a full size PC and was light in case I decided to take it with me to a LAN. Plus it's sitting there idling right now at 27 degrees in my toasty warm house.

I would go with aluminum no matter what though do to weight.

Here is my top 3 realistic choices:

2. http://www.xoxide.com/raidmax-sirius-case-silver.html

3. http://www.xoxide.com/cooler-master-centurion5.html

If this wasn't steel it would be my first choice http://www.xoxide.com/aerocool-m40-cube-black.html

Well I have the 4870 in there and it's fine, so unless it's3/4 taller or more than 2 inches longer or more then my case would work just fine for it :)

According to the website the powercolor version (2gb RAM) is identical in size to what I have now. So nyah lol
