Clueless November 24, 2007 Share Clueless GC Alumni November 24, 2007 I am going to be assembling my new setup soon, and I am going to reformat and do a clean install. I still do it the old school way...Win95 startup start up disk, fdisk...you know the routine. I am wondering if there is a better way these days. soul .gc November 24, 2007 Share soul .gc Member November 24, 2007 I boot to the Windows CD and have it format and partition for me - I prefer the floppy way but my drive broke awhile back and I am too lazy to buy a new one for the 1 time every two years I need a floppy. ZeroDamage November 24, 2007 Share ZeroDamage Member November 24, 2007 If you are using Windows XP, then there is no need for the floppy way of things. The XP CD (and Vista) will let you delete, create, and format partitions right before you install.

Clueless November 25, 2007 Author Share Clueless GC Alumni November 25, 2007 cant u bring the DOS prompt up and do it from there? Yeah, but you still need a start up floppy to load basic drivers and fdisk utilty. I remember trying it once with the windows cd, but the options were a bit confusing, not exactly like doing it the other way. Are there any good tutorials out there anyone can recommend?
