Magruter December 29, 2008 Share Magruter Member December 29, 2008 Basically I have an AVI format movie that I need to chop up and make into a smaller movie. For some reason vista and movie maker doesn't like avi format. I get a black screen every time I try to preview an imported movie on movie maker. Thanks for any help. Lunk December 29, 2008 Share Lunk Member December 29, 2008 Try this program it's called Prism it's free and it works pretty good. I've been using it on my macbook. They also have a version for windows.
JordanRinke December 29, 2008 Share JordanRinke Member December 29, 2008 It is because of the codec for the AVI. If you convert it it will work in movie maker.
