Ringadon April 5, 2009 Share Ringadon Member April 5, 2009 When installing new drivers is there anything else I should do other than running the install wizard? I've heard a few people talking about "uninstalling" the drivers but won't the new drivers just overwrite the old ones? Ring

Preacher April 5, 2009 Share Preacher Member April 5, 2009 If you are simply upgrading drivers just install over the old ones. If you don't run into problems it's fine, if you do then uninstall the drivers, install drivercleaner, reboot to safe mode, run driver cleaner then reboot to normal mode and install drivers again. When you upgrade a video card or change to a different one you will need to go through that process to insure you don't have issues.
dwEEziL April 5, 2009 Share dwEEziL Member April 5, 2009 If you change GPU brands (i.e., ATI to nVidia) you definitely want to follow Preacher's procedure.
