[LaW]Maverick August 4, 2009 Share [LaW]Maverick Member August 4, 2009 I just thought I'd let everyone know, there's a killer deal on a 1080p (1920 x 1200, I'm assuming) 24" monitor at Tiger Direct right now.

It is 1920x1080, so it is in fact 1080p. Never heard of that brand either - I would be weary of the quality of a $179 24" lcd monitor. [LaW]Maverick August 4, 2009 Author Share [LaW]Maverick Member August 4, 2009 If I were seriously interested in it, I would research which company makes the LCD panel inside it. There are a few major manufacturers (Sharp, Sony, etc) that supply off-brand and some not-off brand companies their panels (i.e., Sony makes panels for Samsung, and Sharp makes panels for Olevia). bushwack August 4, 2009 Share bushwack Member August 4, 2009 If it was a 1920x1200 rez monitor would be a much better deal. I don't care for the way the market is swinging towards 16:9 ratio. Seems too narrow for me, might be good for movies but not games or productivity. I'd rather have them extra pixels on the top/bottom.
