[VI]ROosTEr April 30, 2003 Share [VI]ROosTEr Member April 30, 2003 For instance, all of my OpenGL settings were set to quality when I ran my benchmark, but my DX 9 settings are set to High performance across the board. Try clicking on displays (In the advanced settings of your display settings) Bah you know where it is then, click on your monitor and make sure the direct x override refresh rate is set to "same as desktop" This is the only setting, so far, that I can see we haven't talked about. Slaphappy April 30, 2003 Share Slaphappy Member April 30, 2003 (edited) do I want to set the settings to quality or performance??? and you said something about directx settings...where do I adjust directx stuff Edited April 30, 2003 by Slaphappy
Slaphappy April 30, 2003 Share Slaphappy Member April 30, 2003 i set them all to quality...my score was 373....i think thats bad
Slaphappy April 30, 2003 Share Slaphappy Member April 30, 2003 hmmm i set them all to preformance and I got the same 373 somehow i dont' think thats right
[VI]ROosTEr April 30, 2003 Share [VI]ROosTEr Member April 30, 2003 Your score is bad because although you dl'ed Direct X 9, your card was not made to support its features. Try uninstalling DX 9, putting DX 8 back on and running 3dMark 2001 SE. That will be a much better benchmark to us in comparison.
Slaphappy April 30, 2003 Share Slaphappy Member April 30, 2003 what kind of settings on my vid card do I want to have...ie quality preformance vertsync on or off that kinda thing?
dwEEziL April 30, 2003 Share dwEEziL Member April 30, 2003 Don't know about when you are actually benchmarking but when you are in game, you should have v-sync disabled.
Slaphappy April 30, 2003 Share Slaphappy Member April 30, 2003 in all honsty when do you ever want versync on....I can't think of a single game that I turn it on for..... ok for 2001 se 6500 with directx 9 6475 with directx 8.1 both of thouse suck....somethings got to be wrong here

Slaphappy April 30, 2003 Share Slaphappy Member April 30, 2003 nevermind i changed setting and got 8740...wait i think it was 8760 well it was 87 something....I thought the preformance would mean higher fps lower quality and that quality would mean better picture but lower fps....ya i was very wrong....gosh wish i had known that along time ago i've been backwards for some time now
Slaphappy April 30, 2003 Share Slaphappy Member April 30, 2003 my ram is one stick of 512 DDR 333....not sure who makes it...I think it starts with an "m" oh ya I asked this up above but I don't think people saw it so here it goes again... Has anyone had problems with and ATI card (specificly the 8500) making the weapons in cs look bullgy or kinda fat. it happend on kemo's computer when he had the card and now it's doing it on mine. It has nothing to do with the actual skins as reinstalling them does nothing.

[VI]ROosTEr May 1, 2003 Share [VI]ROosTEr Member May 1, 2003 Well, there's another setting you can check inside cstrike. I can't remember where it is that adjusts your screen size. Anyway, I was just wondering if cstrike was trying to compensate for the screen differential in windows and cs by stretching the images.
dwEEziL May 1, 2003 Share dwEEziL Member May 1, 2003 Yeah, I replied to slappy's e-mail and told him about a setting in the config about something like "Draw Faster Sprites for models" or something like that.
