ZeroDamage March 21, 2013 Share ZeroDamage Member March 21, 2013 I would like to grab my wife a new Mac laptop whether it be a pro or an air but the price is honestly a killer. I am looking for a good place to pick up a refurb or new Macbook Air (it is the cheaper model) that is at least an i5 and reputable. Anyone have any ideas? I missed out on a great deal at cowboom.com and the cheapest Apple has either at their ebay store or on their site is still around 1k. I might have to spend that much but am hoping first to find some place of reputation.

ZeroDamage March 22, 2013 Author Share ZeroDamage Member March 22, 2013 I like the i5 but the SSD is too small I think. Anyone know about upgrading the SSD in them? Doable?
Madvillain March 22, 2013 Share Madvillain Member March 22, 2013 (edited) Upgrading a Macbook Air SSD: Step 1: Remove all the screws from the bottom plate. Step 2: Throw it all in the garbage because its a Mac. Step 3: Rejoice that the Mac is in the garbage. But seriously it is possible to upgrade the storage to a larger size. Edit - On a side note, the Airs don't use traditional SSDs, they use memory modules... Learned that the hardway ~1 year ago. So yes it is possible but kind of a pain.
