Gond May 9, 2003 Share Gond Member May 9, 2003 Nice tv...does it have the HDTV receiver in it or is it just HDTV ready? 4:3 aspect ratio?
Guest zerodamage May 9, 2003 Share Guest zerodamage Guests May 9, 2003 HDTV ready. With the receiver already in it it would have cost over 3000 bucks vs the 1500 i paid for this. It is the 16:9 aspect ratio.
Gond May 9, 2003 Share Gond Member May 9, 2003 So do you watch it on "stretch" screen all the time? Do you even notice the stretch?
Guest zerodamage May 9, 2003 Share Guest zerodamage Guests May 9, 2003 No, it is wierd. For some reason is fills in the whole screen without distorting the picture. There are different modes, even a zoom mode for thoe DVD's that are widescreen edition and you want to kill that small black border on top and bottom. The picture is crystal clear. I really wanted a Plasma tv but I didn't have 5000 bucks for one of those.
Hendryx May 9, 2003 Share Hendryx Member May 9, 2003 Plasma is gonna be obsolete in a few years, because Hi-Def LCD will be out. Plus, if you lay a plasma screen on its side or upside down, its ruined.

dwEEziL May 10, 2003 Share dwEEziL Member May 10, 2003 I guess I am one of those weird few people that don't mind the bar across the top or bottom. I mean, in "Full Screen" movies you literally miss almost half of the movie.
