Bubblegum Bandit July 22, 2003 Share Bubblegum Bandit Member July 22, 2003 I haven't been on CS much lately, I have been preoccupied with some remodeling of our new home. Check these pages out and let me know what you think. My Workshop Kitchen Remodel
dwEEziL July 22, 2003 Share dwEEziL Member July 22, 2003 Bubblegum, if you don't have any problems with it, you mind letting me have the plans for the bed you made? I need a new bed and would rather have a nice wood one than shell out the $$ for a good one.
Bubblegum Bandit July 22, 2003 Author Share Bubblegum Bandit Member July 22, 2003 I drew the plans up myself, but I don't mind sharing if you are serious. Do you have a program that will let you open a *.dwg file? I drew the plans in AutoCADD.

General J July 22, 2003 Share General J Member July 22, 2003 Nice work bubblegum. I actually can not wait for my own house so I can have a workshop to do stuff like that. I always have thought that getting into woodwork would be fun.
ConGregation July 22, 2003 Share ConGregation Member July 22, 2003 Nice Bubble! I think I should move soon. Every re-modeling job I do is a learning experience (i.e. looks terrible). So maybe a new house would provide some opportunities to some things a second time
Bubblegum Bandit July 22, 2003 Author Share Bubblegum Bandit Member July 22, 2003 (edited) I will find the file and get it to you dweez....Hey, by the way, where do you work at Va. Tech? dwEEziL July 22, 2003 Share dwEEziL Member July 22, 2003 Nah, I work in an Administrative dept. not an Academic one. He might have heard of me though cuz I am one of the Admins for the Central Services Domain, the W2k domain for depts that can't/don't want to run their own W2k Child domain but still want to participate in the Hokies AD Root (I know, kind of cryptic but he might follow it). My name is Doug Edmonds btw.
Bubblegum Bandit July 24, 2003 Author Share Bubblegum Bandit Member July 24, 2003 (edited) I will mention your name next time I talk to him and see if he has heard of you..... Ok, I have a new question for you....are you construction minded? The reason being, when I drew the bed, I pretty much knew the method of construction I was gonna use....ie, mortise and tennon with floating panels. So, my drawing that I have right now only has finished dimensions. Are you good enough with this stuff to go from the finished dimensions or would you like me to draw all the joints and such out? It's no problem either way, I can fix it up in like 30 min, but I'm not going to spend the time if all you want is the finished dimensions. Also, the dimensions are for a queen size bed as well, so if you are either larger or smaller, bedwise I mean, then you will have to adjust accordingly as well. [VI]ROosTEr July 24, 2003 Share [VI]ROosTEr Member July 24, 2003 I like the way you recessed the chop saw. Mine at work does fine for say a 16' stud, but anything over that, like a 50' floor joist or something, and it takes three people just to cut the thing. Anyway, it looks like a nice setup. dwEEziL July 24, 2003 Share dwEEziL Member July 24, 2003 I am not too "construction minded" so all the help you can give me would be great.
Bubblegum Bandit July 25, 2003 Author Share Bubblegum Bandit Member July 25, 2003 Ok, I'm gonna be out of town this weekend, but when I get back early next week I will update the drawings so they are a little more informative. If you see me on AIM (nick=Hugebod) let me know your e-mail and I will get it to you as soon as I get it done.
Mad Bean July 25, 2003 Share Mad Bean Member July 25, 2003 Nice work Bubblegum. It's always nice to see fine woodwork done like that. Great shop too. I'd love to orginize my garage like that. I just don't seem to have the time to do it.
