CowboyFromHell`X October 23, 2003 Share CowboyFromHell`X Member October 23, 2003 My weightlifting bench I bought a while ago is pretty good. Except for one thing, the screws in it are extremely loose and even the washers don't help. Any ideas on what to do?
Bubblegum Bandit October 23, 2003 Share Bubblegum Bandit Member October 23, 2003 tighten them? How do you mean loose? Loose as in the hole is too big for the bolt, or loose as in the nuts keep working there way loose?

Bubblegum Bandit October 25, 2003 Share Bubblegum Bandit Member October 25, 2003 (edited) You can do one of two things. 1. Go to your favorite hardware store and get some lock washers and put them between the nut and the flat washer. 2. Go to your favorite auto store and get some "Lok-tite" (I think that's how they spell it). Just put a few dabs on the end of each bolt where the nut is and tighten them up. There are a couple of different flavors of this stuff, I believe the red would probably be best for your application. Fatty October 25, 2003 Share Fatty GC Founder October 25, 2003 Take a pic! Bub's suggestions sound good, but a pic would make it even easier to envision the solution.
Gond October 27, 2003 Share Gond Member October 27, 2003 Stop using your bench. I've not used mine in 10 years and the bolts are just as secure as the day I put them on there
