[Mmmm]Homer January 20, 2004 Share [Mmmm]Homer Member January 20, 2004 I get alot of DVD's from the local library (2 blocks away). They're free, you can keep them for a couple of weeks, but it's about 1/3 of a video store availability-wise. I rent the rest.
auggybendoggy January 20, 2004 Share auggybendoggy Member January 20, 2004 brother...175 is expensive you can find em for about 90-120 bucks now. 8x is about 130-150 but still its not too bad of a buy I got my 4x for 80 bucks at tiger direct aug
dwEEziL January 20, 2004 Author Share dwEEziL Member January 20, 2004 You guys don't really know what you are talking about if you call this drive != cheap. Sure there are cheaper out there but this is the fastest one out (many are up to the 8x speed though) but it is also the latest generation of the Pioneer model, A07, and Pioneer makes a great drive. For that price, which is still cheaper than a lot out there, this is a great deal. Just thought I would pass it along. Sorry, geez
auggybendoggy January 20, 2004 Share auggybendoggy Member January 20, 2004 I do know what I'm talking about. and I'll take a NEC anyday over any pioneer product. You can pick up a NEC 8x dvdRW for bout 120.00 In my opinion keep your pioneer and give me NEC cause everything NEC makes rocks! OUT!

dwEEziL January 20, 2004 Author Share dwEEziL Member January 20, 2004 NEC? Ok, if you say so...but I pass on all things NEC.
auggybendoggy January 20, 2004 Share auggybendoggy Member January 20, 2004 why? I own so much NEC and none of it fails. Thats why I say I go with it. also I read tons of reviews and 99% of people have the same experience. so I have nothing but GREAT opinions of NEC. Pioneer and Sony however I differ. While they do hold all the reviews they are the "pay for the name" equip. that just does not merit HIGH PRICE. Don't get me wrong Dweez I'm not saying Sony or Pio are not good theyre just over priced by my measures. So I say go with the NEC or Samsung. I think these two kick on Sony and Pio Samsung 191t and NEC 1920nx monitors are the 2 best I think for dig flat screens. as for dvd+rw drives most of em are pretty good even the cheaper Liteon's, Benq (acer), LG I own a Benq and it's never failed a burn. cool! Birdman January 20, 2004 Share Birdman Member January 20, 2004 I am a fan of NEC displays as well. But, you can't be talking bad about Pioneer Displays and Drives though. They are the best in my mind. Sony on the other hand I have doubts about. Trinitron was the bomb back in the 80's, but what have they done for me lately? Pioneer and NEC should rule the universe. auggybendoggy January 20, 2004 Share auggybendoggy Member January 20, 2004 HAHAHAHAHA "what have they done for me lately" you should be a singer I've read good things about both sony and Pio but cause of the cost I've always bought cheaper. and so I always ended up with NEC and nothing to this day has failed me. Also Samsung rocks too. I'm diggin them on just about all aspects. I guess it may come down to ones own experience with these products. I read tons of reviews and seems they all have their own following. still yet like I said 179 is still not too bad of a price for a DVD+RW not when you recall they were more like 1100.00 bucks bout 3-4 years ago. aug
