  1. The router I'm using belongs to the guy who rents a room from me, and his parent's bought it, so we have no documentation or software for it. It is a D-Link 5-port DSL/Cable router, model #DI-604 E. The problem is, I can not access it through my computer or his. I have followed the instructions on the website tech-support section, even e-mailed D-Link about it, but nothing seems to work. I'm wondering if anyone out there has any tips to share from experiance. I reset the router as instructed on the website, then after a few seconds, I tried to access it through the browser (typing in the ip). The dialouge box comes up asking for a user and password. As instructed by their website, I put in the default information (user: admin password: nothing (blank)). It won't let me leave the password field blank. I've tried actually typing in "nothing" but that doesn't work either. After entering the default info and pressing "Okay" multiple times (box just pops back up if there isn't a password) it will finally try to load the page for a second before displaying "Error 401." I need to open some ports so any help would be appreciated.
  2. If I'm not mistaken, DOH Delta was a dual P3 back in the day. Nice find. I'm sure we can find a use for it.
  3. same here, loved the games. I played both most of the way through I think. I know I almost beat MP1. In MP2 I was stuck in the area where you have to provide sniper cover while Max runs across an open construction yard trying to find an open door. I think people miss the fact that Rockstar can create some great storylines. I really enjoyed the story of GTA3 and what I played of GTA:Vice City, but most people simply see lots of killing. Max Payne was the same way, awsome story, great voice acting, immersive world, etc. Unless you get into it though, it just looks like a blood bath. I'd like to have the chance to finish MP2, but that won't happen until I can figure out how to get into my router to open a few ports.
  4. Tamriel Rebuilt (mod for The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind) www.teamamd.com the elder scrolls forums try to get over to dohguild.com at least a couple times a month, and then here a couple times a week.
  5. alright, did the driver cleaner thing, 3D Mark 2003 score jumped up to 5591. Very nice, fps in "Wings of Fury" was up to 149, "Battle of Proxycon" mostly stayed between 18-35, sometimes going up to 50+. My "CPU test 2" was very bad though, getting around 4fps in the "Trolls Lair" test. That normal? Also, what is this ".Net 1.1" thing? Is it an update from Microsoft? If so, I have it already, SP2 is the only update I haven't installed.
  6. Can anyone give me some advice on how to make my system perform better? I think I'm missing something. Running 3D Mark 2003 (free demo) I got a score of only about 2700. I have just changed from the Omega drivers to the Radeon drivers, though something didn't change right because my video options are still the Omega style menu, even though I did the Omega uninstall. Also, my "ATI Catalyst Control Center" shortcut doesn't work, says the program cannot start. Would that be the problem, or is there something else I may have missed? My computer is as follows: ASRock K8S8X mobo Athlon 64 3000+ 1024MB A-Data RAM 40GB Western Digital 5400rpm HD 40GB Seagate 5400rpm HD Sapphire 9800 Pro 128MB gfx card Thermaltek 420watt power supply Could the slow hard drives have that much effect on performance? In the "Wings of Fury" test I was maxing at only 60-65 fps, I know I've gone into the 100s before.
  7. LOL! "Half-Life 3 is planned..." so expect another 8 year wait.
  8. Thank you for taking the time to come in here and let us know your opinions, h4ng0v3r. They really do mean something. As Wilco said, our community has been around for a long time (6-8 years) and we have always prided ourselves on great adminship. And like he said, each admin is different, and we as a guild don't often interfere with each other's calls. BUT, when a complaint is made by an upstanding regular about one of our admins, we do look into it, and if necessary, one or several of the more senior members will take action. I've seen admins reprimanded before (hell, I've been reprimanded before). So thanks again for your post, and I hope you stick around both the server, and the forums.
  9. I'll check out partition magic, thanks. I installed an old version of Mandrake awhile back, but didn't do much with it. SUSE 9.1 Pro went on with no problems at all. YaST (Yet another Setup Tool) is really easy to use, and I was customizing my installation the first time I put it on.
  10. naw, I'm done playing it. un-installed it awhile back.
  11. I've got SUSE 9.1 Pro and I love it, except for that damned problem with the 9800 Pro cards. There have been people that have figured out how to get them to work, but their knowledge of Linux far trancends mine. I knew nothing about Linux and the first time I installed SUSE I had no problems at all. Kopete and GAIM went up fine, OpenOffice works great as far as I'm concerned, and I love the Konquer browser. X, when did you buy SUSE 9.1 Pro? Mine came with 2 DVDs that have the 64bit version on them. I've installed with both the 32bit and 64bit, and I don't really notice a difference. To be fair though, I didn't mess with the 32bit version very much. One big question I have though... I've got 2 hard drives, one with Linux and one with Windows. I want to have part of the drive with Linux be partitioned and formatted with the NTFS file system, so that I can use it in Windows, since that is where I spend most of my time. However, Windows will not recognize that I have two drives. In my "Device Manager" it shows 2 hard drives, however, in "My Computer" there is only one. I can't seem to figure out how to format the one drive to the NTFS system. Both are only 40gig, and I'm out of room on my Windows drive.
  12. so sad how they make a big deal about it, giving them each a position "the wild child" "the quite one" etc. so they're girls that play video games... there are hundreds out there, not really news-worthy.

but we won't let you in. j/k ...what was this topic about?? oh yeah, facehole, he's on DOH/DLM teamspeak about every day.
  14. The final release will NOT be availible as a full install, it is patch only. You'll have to download .70 and then patch to the final version.
  15. so far my favorites are the Dragon Knight and the Troll Warlord as Sentinal, and probably Oblivion and the Lifestealer on Scourge.
  16. 2500+ will run you $80, you can get an OEM if you've got the hs/fan already. I believe that's what Fatty's running, as well as a million other gamers out there. That leaves you enough for either a good 180gig hard drive, or a higher quality mobo. also, IF the mobo is the problem, you could try getting a refurb board from newegg. A refurb for socket A (Athlon XP) won't be missing anything you don't have already.
  17. I've been playing various DotA maps 5.72, 5.74 AllStars, maybe some others just today. First time playing it and I'm enjoying it. I'm "crowbar.gc" on east. The first hero I tried was the Dragon Knight (Sentinel) and did really well, got to lvl 20 without dying too many times. Since then I've played a bunch of crappy games. I don't like all random games. Just starting out I want to have a chance to learn the game without having to learn a new hero every map.

thx for the info.I know it's tough playing these high-profile games for free before most others, but I appreciate your sacrifice.
  19. I'm just wondering if anyone in this community is at all involved with video editing in any form. That could be editing video taken on a camcorder, or playing with game demos. The latter is what I'm really interested in. Anyone worked with CS, UT or any other game demos, editing them and then putting them in a divx or mpeg format? Also, what do people know about, and think about Machinima? What it is.

nevermind that man in the mage suit, tell me more of this EQ2!
  22. PC Gamer gave Sid Meyer's "Alpha Centauri" 98%. I think 98 is the highest they have ever gone though.
  23. I played ES3 for PC for almost 8 months straight when I didn't have an internet connection (and for awhile when I did). I loved it. Yeah, you feel kind of alone sometimes, but the story was immersive, the graphics were good (better when 3rd party texture packs were used) and you could do pretty much anything. I'll certainly be playing ES4.
