  1. For those with cable, the History Channel has a new show called Decisive Battles, where they recreate epic battles using the engine from Rome: Total War. I've not seen any of the shows, but the commercials for it looked pretty sweet.
  2. I downloaded it, not sure if I'll get to play though. I've just been accepted into the Matrix Online closed beta, and I'm almost done downloading Neverwinter Nights, AND I'm becoming addicted to UT2k4.
  3. ET - Linux ET patch - Linux Also have m0m put on the ET Pro mod, which most servers use, as it tweaks some settings and is the official setup used in STA, TWL, CAL, Clanbase, and ESL. The download for that is here.
  4. wow... I'm downloading a bunch of new models, I'll post the names later, but they're all under the UT2004 Models section there on Skin City.
  5. i'll be adding all the skins in this thread as well.
  6. Good choices. I have another mod review I'm working on that I will put up in the next couple days. It will probably be on Deathball, but I haven't decided for sure yet. It's definatly a great mod, very well done, and it's been around for a long time. I played Alien Swarm yesterday for the first time and it is really an awsome mod. The developer's deserve their inclusion in the UT2004 Editor's Choice Edition. Haven't seen anything about Domain 2049 except that it's one of the more high profile mods out there. I'll download it soon and try it out. Other's you all should check out: Clone Bandits (a humorus take on Onslaught) Chaos UT Lawdogs Air Buccaneers <--CliffyB referred to this one as "clearly conceived in an opium den"
  7. GC Teamspeak is up at 66.219.146.149:8767. Hop on and meet some people. Not much beats bsing on the mic.
  8. As soon as yermother can get around to it, Enemy Territory will be running on Ante. The game is totally free. This in no way means that it is a sub-par game. It was in development by a professional team to become the expansion for Return to Castle Wolfenstien. However, ID Software scrapped the title (probably in favour of Doom 3) and released the finished multiplayer as a free standalone game. You DO NOT need Return to Castle Wolfenstien to play ET. Simply download and install the client, patch it once, and you're ready to go. ET is pretty much your standard class-based World War II first person shooter. Much like Call of Duty. A few maps have vehicles, however they move along a specified path and cannot be driven, only manned. Maps are small fairly small each with multiple objectives to complete before victory can be achieved. Gameplay is fast paced with short respawn times in between. I will be attempting to populate Ante during the weeks ahead, if any of you would like to help me, and get to experiance this great game at the same time, download the game and come join me. 9. I'll keep that in mind, as my settings are all on highest. However, a lot of players probably don't use the highest settings, and I think I'm going to throttle back a bit due to some video lag in intense battles, such as around a core in the last minutes of a map.
  10. Just wondering, with the immense popularity of Onslaught, how many of you have tried playing the other game types in UT2004? Has anyone had a good deathmatch in the pit of hell on the awsome map Inferno, or enjoyed a peaceful fragfest on Tokara Forest? How about a good game of Capture the Flag on everyone's favorite hold-over from the original UT, Face Classic? Or has anyone tried their hand at space battles in the Assault map, Mothership? On a similar note, has anyone done the single player tournament?
  11. nice work, this should allow us to see that skin if one of us is using it, correct? nice choices, I like the trolls.
  12. Chip may be able to help you. He runs Linux exclusivly. I was headed in the Linux only direction, until I found out that there were no Linux drivers for my 9800 Pro. Kinda put a damper on that.
  13. doesn't look lilke there's anything for UT2k4 yet...thought I read somewhere there was...I'll keep looking.
  14. yeah, I've jumped on a few empty DM servers, but no one has joined. we need to get some people playing at the same time. ...that...or add the Chaos Evolution mutator to Cuffo....

sweet, now we just need some people playing on it. according to hlsw, I'm pinging between 75-130 with it empty.
  16. since I'm a nice guy... http://www.tactical-ops.de/
  17. I've got an Altec Lansing surround sound system hooked up to my motherboard audio, and a Plantronics USB headset w/ mic also hooked up to the computer. Everything was running fine yesterday, yet today, I can't get the mic to work in Teamspeak. I tried unplugging the speakers, logging off, and logging back in, still no mic. Headset speakers work fine, just no mic. I can even have both speakers and headset hooked up and be getting sound through both, but no mic. Any idea why this is? I've tried messing with all the Teamspeak settings I can find, to no avail. It's frustrating, to say the least.
  18. Tac Ops was fun, though I didn't like it as much as CS, which was taking off around the same time. Tac Ops did go retail though, which I guess is as big as a mod can get. There is a new Tac Ops for UT2k4, whic I have yet to download, but it looks pretty good.
  19. I'll be playing UT for the rest of the evening, it's 6pm now. AIM me, since my mic isn't working for Teamspeak. Playboy JL is the name, I'm up for some online ChaosUT.
  20. yeah, I never liked consoles, but good bit of news nonetheless. sure it belongs in here, or go down to the console forum and post it there too.
