  1. I'll be there Friday. Which reminds me, I really should play at least SOME counter strike before then, If nothing else, I'm great at catching bullets with my face.
  2. I loved all three Mass Effect games. ME3 was the first game I've bought on launch date in years, but since I got the other 2 for a total of $15 during steam sales, I figured they more than earned my $60 for the hundreds of hours I spent playing the games. I also had no issue with any of the endings. They all seemed to fit the overal theme throughout the series, and made sense to me. You have multiple choices, none seemed ideal, but it was also obvious that you had to choose one of them because there was no way to win a conventional war with the Reapers. I completed multiple play-throughs of each game, and I agree with Girzilla, Jennifer Hale is a far better voice actor than Mark Meer. I've become so tired of the "bored space marine meathead" voice acting in the games, that I can't stand to play them anymore.
  3. Dude, you know FK will be rocking the 21" CRT with this thing at frag fest. You know, 'cause these new-fangled LCD monitors lag and ghost hella bad. Nope that'll be me. Barring an unexpected upgrade to flat panel, Bear^ 's old beast of a monitor will be making its glorious return.
  4. boy are you in for a surprise also, registration forms nao! Aww man, this mean i gotta shell out for CS:GO? I've been spending the better part of the last several years playing Oblivion (not for a long time now) Dragon Age: Origins, and the Mass Effect series.
  5. Sounds good to me. Been a LONG time since I was at Fragfest. Just need to iron out the details, hopefully by the time registration rolls around. So.... does this mean I have to fire up CS:S again? *might* not have played since last Fragfest.
  6. I guess whiny maybe wasn't the correct term. Angsty is more what I got from him. Same with the character also voiced by the same actor in KOTOR. I went dark side in KOTOR mainly to irritate him, lol. Or maybe it's just me.
  7. I found it interesting that of the two characters you had the option of killing off at Virmire, both were whiny, over dramatic people who you had a tough time warming up too. ME 1 was the very first game where as soon as I finished it, i turned right around and made another character and played it again. I'm notoriously bad at not finishing games I start. Now on my second playthrough of ME 2 running the paragon route. (mostly anyway, sometimes you just gotta punch someone in the nose though, lol!)
  8. Wow, this is a tough one. After ME 1, I'd have said Miranda for sure since Ashley annoyed me to no end. In my first playthrough of ME 2, I had a somewhat love/hate thing with Miranda, but that whole bad girl edge has something to it. Haven't seen much from ME 3 beyond the demo where neither of them are available to be in your party, so it's hard to judge which one will irritate me the most, lol. Disappointed there's not an option 3: Liara. She's shown the most growth in character development over the series fom shy insecure(ish) loner scientist to total bad donkey biotic who will rip you to shreds and not even break a sweat doing it. She's also got attitude to spare now. and yes, I did type "donkey", it was not a board auto correct.
  9. Boo to WMG, but at least the "watch on youtube" link takes you directly to the vid.
  10. Something a bit different, but it's a song I keep coming back to over and over again Opeth's Blackwater Park. Phenomenal live version recorded at the Royal Albert Hall in London. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdWB7-uL3fE Stick with it through the break that starts at the 2:50 mark, or thereabouts, drift away with the melody until the crushing blastbeat finale brings it all back home. Simply exquisite.
  11. Didn't hit the Thai place, but did have a fabulous dinner at Black Swan Brewpub out in the Plainfield area. Great beers brewed there too.
  12. We won a random contest from their website. Only thing that would be better is if the Steelers were playing, but as long as the Cheatriots lose, I'm happy, lol!
  13. Guess who's going to the Super bowl this year? That's right, ME! Thank you Papa John's! Better ingredients, better pizza, Papa John's!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Quick update, thanks yo everyones help, I *think* I have everything set up properly. I'll let you know. Thanks again for all the info.
  15. Ok, the Netgear router that runs the main network is 100 base. The switch would be connected directly to the main artwork computer and the printer. The other computers that are sometimes used for artwork are in adjacent offices. I'm thinking that amertrash's idea should work fine for us, because the software needed to rip the artwork to the printer requires a hardware dongle connected to the computer with the RIP software installed on it (the main artwork computer). In this configuration, the other computers should be able to RIP files to the printer using the main art computer much the same way I can print to my bosses printer from another networked computer, as long as the Epson 4880 is shared on my computer as well.
  16. Thanks for the reply ZD. As for asking my IT department, that's what I did here. At my work, I am the IT department, and what I don't know I usually ask you guys because you know more about these things than I do.
  17. Ok, so we have a network set up at work using a netgear router. Don't know the model, or specs because I didn't set this one up. The real issue isn't with the router, but the way the building has been wired for network traffic. Each work station/desk area has (or soon will have) ethernet ports in the wall. This sounds ideal, but the computers we use for artwork need to have ethernet access to our Epson 4880 printer. At our previous location, the printer was wired directly into the router, but due to the locations of the router and printer in our new building, this is no longer possible. Wireless access isn't an option due to the volume of data that needs to be transmitted from the computer to the printer, neither is USB because the cable cannot keep up with the data and printing speeds slow down too much and can introduce errors into the output. I also thought about just wiring the printer directly to the main artwork computer, but there are also many times that artwork is produced on other computers, so having direct network access is most desirable. It seems to me the best solution is to add a switch to the wall plug nearest the main art computer, and the printer. Question is, how do I accomplish this, and how is network addressing handled? Also, if this can be easily done, can it be done using a standard Linksys WRT54g router? I ask this last question because I currently have 2 spare routers sitting around. Thanks for any help.
  18. Wow, had the box for a whole 4 days and already regret it. All this did was remind me how much I hate consoles. :/
  19. I have only one, and not sure I'll even be using the one I have. :/
  20. Having finally stepped up from the Atari 2600, might as well add my gamer tag here as well. Wolfsblood1. Yea I know, real original. At least this way, you know who I am. Haven't yet ponied up for the multiplayer membership, only had the box since yesterday and not sure how much online gaming I'm likely to do right now.
  21. Thought about posting this in the Christian Spirituality and Sharing section, but really wanted a wider audience for this. Mia is the daughter of some very good friends of mine. I've known her mom all her life, and their family is just an extension of my family. Mia was born in February 2011 with very severe heart and health issues. Most children born with these issues live, on average 1-2 weeks, if that long. She was life flighted from Akron to the University of Michigan Medical Center a couple days after she was born, where the leading pediatric heart specialist in the country agreed to take her case. She's been there ever since, and has undergone 2 open heart surgeries in that time. There is a lot more information at the website that has been recently set up for the family here. There's also a link to a video piece that was produced over the last several weeks If you could take the time to check them out at some point, I know the fmaily would appreciate it. If nothing else, please keep them in your prayers. Thanks, Wolfsblood.
  22. Unfortunately, I'm gonna have to miss this one again this yer. That's during our vacation, and seeing as it's the first vacation we've taken since 2005..... i'm going to have to pass. Ya'll have fun though.
  23. Hey, do I still have to cut the grass if the zombie apocalypse is on the way? Just want to know because if they're coming I'm not wasting time cutting the grass....
